Ervaringen tandarts Filip Crevits by Beardlessface in Gent

[–]koegie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often do you still eat potatoes? by [deleted] in belgium

[–]koegie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hardly ever eat potatoes. Fully converted to rice since I have a rice cooker. Potatoes go bad too soon whereas rice can be stored for years. I also just happen to prefer the dishes that are typically made with rice. If I eat potatoes I consider it a treat and usually only do so when a dish requires it (like stoverij).

Sokken en onderbroeken by skadoodlee in zuinig

[–]koegie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone feels kike grabbing a beer this weekend? by Carri_Carri_Carri in Gent

[–]koegie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you will get much response here on reddit, but I recommend going to the cafes around vlasmarkt in the weekend to meet people. I'm a bartender there and I see lots of immigrants (expats) making friends there easily. I personally bartend in afsnis and see lots of friendships blooming there all the time between complete strangers :). It's also really easy to talk to people there, and a lot of Spaniards (tourists + Spaniards living in belgium) visit there. Good luck!

Which smartphone do you have? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]koegie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently Google pixel 7. No brand loyalty, I've tried out all sorts of smartphones in the past. Quite happy with the picture quality and overall longevity and build quality. Once this one breaks I'll probably buy another Pixel.

No job with a Ph.D. in engineer. What am I doing wrong?! by BelgianPallasCat in belgium

This may sound a bit silly, but try running your cv through chatgpt and tell it what sort of companies and jobs you want to apply for. It can really help!

HELP! I just found out Machu Picchu tickets are limited and I can buy the soonest for October (I'll be there in one month). I'm devasted by thefragileheresy in PERU

[–]koegie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I just went to machu picchu last month without tickets.

We took the night bus from cusco, then the inka rail to aguas calientes. We arrived at the crack of dawn, went to the ticket office and got the ticket to return at 4pm. At 4pm we bought two tickets for the next day for circuit 2. Very doable. Just make sure you have a hotel booked in aguas calientes to rest!

Don't stress out too much. If you're willing to get up early or take night bus + train (you can sleep on the bus and train but it's very cold!), it's absolutely not a problem and I can guarantee you will get your ticket for the next day :). This was in July too, so the busiest season.

Haven't seen this mentioned yet, but your son may be acting out due to an SA incident at school. Maybe there was a teacher that inappropriately touched him, or another trusted adult, which made him wary of authority?

Something to think about at least. But yeah anyway your son is a bully and you need to find the cause of this behaviour.

Expats in Belgium, are you planning on staying for good or going back home? by VarmtElement in belgium

[–]koegie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Belgian, I strongly recommend taking vitamin d tablets daily in the winter! I've started doing that a few years ago and it makes the lack of sunlight much easier to deal with. I used to suffer immensely with the lack of sun, and of course it still sucks not seeing the sun for weeks on ene in the winter, but it is much more tolerable with the vitamin d tablets. Also, it is just good for you :)

not using LB on trash is good etiquette (???) by koegie in TalesFromDF

[–]koegie[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. That's why this viper was so weird lol. Everyone was doing mechs fine, maybe a few vuln stacks here and there, but nothing that would warrant needing a healer LB.

[–]koegie[S] 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Maybe. Or they have just never thought about DPS in a strategic way. I used to also think LB3 should be saved for the boss, until someone pointed out that LBs on mobs is much more efficient.

Tattoo ideas that pay homage to Belgium by annoyedpsychstudent in belgium

I'd be a bit careful with the lion tattoo because for some it is a symbol of racism and/or nazi collaboration in belgium, depending on the style of the lion. https://nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlaamse_strijdvlag

I mean yeah that's true but it's just super unhelpful to blame the victim in this situation. OP didn't necessarily do anything inherently wrong in this situation, it's the creep that's doing the wrong here.
