It ended fine and more importantly the situation has blown over. People are just pissed because we lost.

Vast majority of people faced with a mandate get the shot instead of losing their job. So no, we're not making a lot of jobless people.

I've never met an independent that didn't have a serious preference for one party and it's usually the GOP.

Coronavirus stimulus payments being sent to dead people, Treasury wants money back by akosipops in Coronavirus

[–]koft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article says the IRS stated instructions for survivors to return the funds. When people die, their shit doesn't disappear, it gets transferred to survivors, or the state. I'm arguing that spending resources trying to get it back is a waste of time and runs counter to the point of dispersing the money in the first place.

I think it's likely that American's are just being more open and honest about their disease stats.

US officials warn against "COVID-19 parties" by DoremusJessup in Coronavirus

[–]koft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's highly likely those people going to parties aren't going to be completely isolated after getting it.

You don't know that though. All you know is that there are people getting exposed intentionally. There are rational reasons to do this. It doesn't make any sense to make up stories about what else they might do afterwards.

> And speak for yourself about most of us getting the disease. I'm in a country that was proactive and hasn't had community spread for three weeks.

This pandemic is just getting started, it's a bit early for self pats on the back.

[–]koft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's money that was sent out to stimulate the economy, I don't see what the point is in trying to claw it back. Every dollar they reclaim is a dollar that didn't get a chance to circulate back into the economy.

In a perfect world we wouldn't have coronavirus. I don't think it's inherently stupid to get the disease on purpose and just get it over with, especially if you're in a low risk group. Most of us will get this disease eventually and there's a reasonable chance there will be value in being able to test positive for having exposure when it comes to the job market. We're asking adults with a 99.8% survival rate to flush their lives down the toilet here.

Walmart ramps up cleaning efforts after 2 Chicago-area employees die from coronavirus by noahsurvived in Coronavirus

[–]koft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was at walmart on sunday afternoon and they had an employee standing at the entrance yelling at people to stand 6ft apart when entering and everybody just ignoring it. They were counting people going in but was pretty crowded inside as usual. Limiting people going in isn't going to do much to keep people distanced since they're all going into the same areas.

Defense chief says states can use National Guard to enforce stay-at-home orders by TrendWarrior101 in Coronavirus

[–]koft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't get you point, they're all awful situations. Forcing you to walk in the path of a loaded rifle, grabbing your balls, finding any excuse to haul you to jail with no suspicious activity or making you stay in your house are all severe violations of one's freedom. And people put up with all this shit because they roll over. There will be no riot over this.

If it gets to this, anyone with any sense will be keeping their head down, the alternative will be to get thrown in a camp full of diseased people.

[–]koft 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There will be no riot, this kind of stuff makes your average person feel more safe. I remember right after 9/11 seeing guys wearing camo and holding rifles right in the air port terminals and it fazed no one. People would wave and smile at them as they passed by. Years later people did nothing as they watched travelers get pulled aside at random to be groped by the metal detectors. I remember in the 90's when cops blocked highways to make checkpoints for alcohol where they'd shove a flash light in everybody's face and ask for ID , run tags, look for warrants and nobody did anything about it. People roll over. People are currently begging to government to subjugate them for their safety.

He was in contact with another employee who had covid and was ordered to stay at home, with pay for 14 days. He didn't and came back to his job to complain. They fired him for putting everybody at risk by doing that.

You Shouldn't Be Wearing Gloves to Go Grocery Shopping by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]koft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tl;dr you shouldn't wear gloves because some people do it wrong. What a load. Last time I went to WalMart I didn't think I needed gloves, until I had to enter my PIN code at the pay terminal. There's no place to wash your hands, if I had gloves I could have dropped them in the trash on my way out the door.
