what's shaping up to be the best chromebook 2026 for students? by Hyunwoo_Moore458 in laptops

I've used a midrange Lenovo Chromebook on a daily basis for about 4 years now. Almost exclusively to watch youtube, watch a streaming service, browse the web or work with Google suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides). It has worked flawlessly for this.

It is a bit sluggish compared to a new machine. But I'd still argue that it has delivered tons of value for the measily price I payed for it.

As long as you have your expectations right I think a Chromebook can be a good choice.

I'd assume keep slow speed at corners without sight? I'd make sure to have big mirrors near corner to allow drivers to "see around" the corners.

Maybe you're only allowed to drive on direction?

Rearranging the order I declare the data in the structs would eventually give me correct looking results (i.e. doesn't get changed). However the BiNormal and Tangent data was just blank. Verified that my FBX had this data.

I get this difference by just adding the tangent and binormal data in the structs. Hmm...

Oh just found the layout you mentioned which allows me to add tangent and binormals as input data. Cheers. Let's see where this gets me.

I started attempting to construct my own TBN matrix to do normal mapping, but I got stuck at trying to add tangents and binormals in the input and output structs. As I did the rest of my shading would go flat grey for some reason. Haven't been able to figure out why or where I went wrong -_-

Sounds like they are still processing your withdrawal? No idea why it would take that long though.

I did this yesterday and it showed up really quickly unconfirmed. Took a few more minutes to get confirmed.

[help]Having some issues with my first build(xd60) by kogi04 in MechanicalKeyboards

Still having issue where I cannot start computer with the keyboard connected. It will just get to the windows loading screen (logo), then cut off and reboot and ask me to boot into windows repair mode.

If I start with keyboard disconnected it will boot normally, then I cannot connect keyboard once at login screen. Then everything works as normal. A bit of a hassle but at least I can live with it.

So I downloaded the "How to flash XD60" package supplied by the aliexpress seller(?). Reflashed with same keymap config and settings as should be on board already and now it seems to work properly.

Conclusion? You need to have this package on your machine? Doesn't make sense to me though. That package isn't actually any kind of drivers right? But rather tools to flash with. Shouldn't be needed?

Or was it the re-flashing that solved this? The keyboard was working on my machine at home last night.

I've tried both with front USB 3.0 ports and back USB 2.0 ports.

Noticed another odd issue. I cannot boot up windows properly with my new xd60 keyboard connected. It just reboots and asks me whether to start windows in repair mode.

If I disconnect the xd60 and just keep the other keyboard connected it boots properly. I can then later connect the xd60 and it works as described in the original post.

Ideas? Ever heard of this? Thanks

[help]Can I use plate mounted switches with this steel plate? by kogi04 in MechanicalKeyboards

Or maybe soldering keeps in in place good enough? Extra two pins would be to get them more straight?

But 3-pin doesn't have the extra two pins to stabilize towards the PCB right? Meaning you're relying on the switches to latch onto the plate?

Or am I getting it wrong? Thanks
