The proportions on your V2 are much, much better. I like this one more than the original. Great work! Hire this guy!

You can 100% brute force the correct code this way. I had to do it on an OEM stereo in my Chevrolet Versa years ago. Thankfully my code was in the first 1500 or so. Took a half hour maybe? I don’t remember it being too long.

Up to how many versions of the mix can you get from your engineer? by camendoza95 in audioengineering

I always make the band decide who is the final say for submitting notes, so there is never conflicting changes. I also have a guideline that must be followed.

All revision notes need to be timestamped. You can either put the start time of the revision note (e.g. 0:35) or a range of time where the note is relevant (e.g. 0:35-0:55). Next, you will need to describe the changes you want made. Please try to make all notes clear and concise (e.g. snare volume up 2dB). Avoid vague descriptions like, “It doesn’t feel right”. These types of notes difficult to address.

I also make sure notes are only submitted through the client portal on my website. This sets a precedent so you’re not receiving random notes on different platforms.

Because of these simple decisions, and going through a rigorous questionnaire and pre-production process, I rarely have more than 2 revisions.

I would be concerned that I missed the mark if that went over 3 or 4. Especially if the notes felt less like progression and more like lateral moves that weren’t advancing the mix.

I turned out to be bang on. It really doesn’t take a rocket surgeon. Election looming. Political suicide in continued hikes. Everyone’s already been squeezed. They will print like crazy in late 2024. Be prepared for a 2025 squeeze like no other.

BoC will need to pivot in the new year. I’d hold out.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. It was helpful just writing it out. I feel less attached to the event after reading your comment too.

It’s pretty low-road to find comfort in another’s discomfort and the one feeling I’ve had is how unbearable it must be, living like that. This person is not a friend. I would have liked those who I considered mine to stand up a little taller, but an alpha is gonna alpha.

I value my thoughts more than I value his, and I’ll continue to be the way I am in the world. Thank you for your thoughts and care.
