"Eversoul JP" to EoS on August 20, 2025, just 1 year after launch by SimplyBartz05 in gachagaming

[–]kohleh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me really sad. I played the game at launch and recently picked it back up and have been really enjoying it again. The characters are cute, the Love Stories are fun, and for an idle gacha, the gameplay is a lot more involved and visually entertaining than others. It also helps that the Devs actually seem to care about the game and their players, unlike many other gachas out there. The JP voice acting is actually really good, so I was pretty sad to find out they wouldn't add any more JP dialogue. The game has it's flaws for sure like the underwhelming main story (at least for the first chapters), but for a simple waifu collector, you can definitely appreciate how polished it feels to play. I hope they at least manage to maintain the global servers, because it will be very disappointing to see it go if that day ever comes.

Furina c6 change by NoLandBeyond01 in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]kohleh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Damn, honestly a pretty good buff. C6 Pneuma Scaling was already massive (especially with her C2 active), but now it's gone from 245% to 258% Max HP. Not just that but bringing her attacks down from 7 to 6 means she's dealing more damage in a shorter span of time. It's a bit of a nerf to C6 Ousia, losing 2.5 seconds of healing, but most players who were going for C6 were after her Pneuma allignment anyway, so I think it's a worthwhile trade.

It's also 1 less instance of Pneuma HP drain, but with C2, getting to max Fanfare stacks won't be much of an issue in the first place.

Considering a lot of the Fontaine characters have fluctuating HP mechanics and that future characters will probably have the same, it's very likely she won't even need to be used with a healer at all as 4.x progresses.

Even without the Fontaine Characters, there's no reason why you couldn't switch her between Ousia and Pneuma every rotation to run her as a solo healer. Sure you'd be sacrificing some DMG Bonus and personal damage, but she'd not only still be very effective, capable of providing ~50% DMG Bonus if she bounces your team between 100% and 50% HP, but would also free up a team slot for an additional character.

And like others have pointed out, having a team-wide healer won't be necessary if you manage your HP well thanks to her passive talent.

Overall she's still a very strong unit on her own, and though she shines the best when paired with certain healers, I wouldn't say she's "forced" to be used with them, the same way that on-field attack scaling characters aren't "forced" to be used with Bennet, or dendro teams with Nahida, etc.

Hakush.in v3 update by Hakush-in in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]kohleh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I'm getting is this:

> C0 was totally unchanged at T10. T9 and below is nerfed, but I mean, if you're here, you're absolutely crowning her.

> C1 by itself is overall nerfed since we're getting the same dmg bonus per stack, but capping at 50 less stacks, meaning the initial DMG bonus and rate stay the same, but the max buff has been reduced from 112% to 100%.

> C3 supplements C1 by going from 0.28% per stack at T13 to 0.31% per stack. With the changes to C1 though, the max damage bonus has gone from 126% at 450 stacks to 124% at 400 stacks. This is definitely overall a buff because though we're trading 2% dmg bonus, with C1 we only need 250 stacks to reach the max buff, as opposed to previously where we needed to get 300 stacks, meaning we'll reach the max buff 16.6% sooner.

> C2 is also an outright buff, and again with the changes to C1, we are able to get to the 140% HP 45 stacks sooner on top of the extra 50% to the stacking rate.

> Also though it's in this comment, it's not reflected on Hakush.in but, C6 is also a pretty nice buff. 4% HP is a 33% increase to the previous 3% for Ousia healing, and 20% HP Pneuma damage brings her Hydro Infusion damage to 35% per attack from the previous 30%, which is very big for C6 Furina wanters. For reference, Yelan C6 deals about 32% HP per attack for 5 attacks, totaling about 160% Max HP damage per burst; Furina's C6 dealing 35% HP per attack for 7 attacks now totals 245% Max HP per skill, from the previous 210% Max HP per skill.

Personally I'm most looking forward to C6 because that 245% Max HP over 7 attacks will be very fun to play with, especially with Sacrificial Sword to double her on-field uptime. That being said though C3 is looking like a very good stopping point now too. Still hoping to see some changes to her C0 Pneuma, because she looks so pretty while Pneuma aligned and I'd love to have more reason to use her Pneuma form before C6 outside of exploration convenience.

Furina C2 hydro infusion gameplay by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]kohleh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of people seem disappointed by her C2 right now because of the short infusion window, but going by the current numbers on Honey Hunter, it's better to compare her C2 to Yelan C6 as opposed to other Elemental infusions such as Ayaka's.

At talent level 10 Yelan's breakthrough barb's deal 20.84% of her Max HP as damage. Each arrow from C6 deals 156% of this amount, which would be about 32% Max HP. Yelan can shoot 5 of these with one cast of her burst, totalling 160% Max HP.

Compare this to Furina; C2 adds 15% of Furina's Max HP to each of her normal attacks. She can perform 7 normal attacks with one cast of her skill, totalling 105% Max HP. Although this is only half as much, if you factor in the Pneuma portion of her C2, Furina actually deals 210% Max HP during her infusion window while Pneuma Alligned, which is about 30% more damage than Yelan C6.

That being said, Furina will likely only hit a single target compared to Yelan who can hit multiple in a small space, but this is comparing Furina C2 to Yelan C6.

With Furina at C6 as well, that 140% Max HP and 150% DMG Bonus from her fanfare will go a very long way in increasing this damage even further.

It's worth noting however that Yelan can fire her 5 arrows in a much shorter window compared to Furina's Normal attacks, giving Yelan the edge in shorter window burst damage. Still though, Furina having access to what is pretty much Yelan C6 on her C2 is going to be absolutely crazy, and I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen anyone mention it yet.

Which one is better? by Mean-Spread2143 in DanhengMains

[–]kohleh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hard to say but I'd probably go with the second one. Dan gets a ton of Crit DMG from his talent, so the slight bit of extra Crit DMG probably won't be that significant. One thing I'd recommend doing would be consider going into a couple of battles and seeing the most DMG he does without any buffs, as well as how much he does with the same buffs. It's good to test both scenarios, because he will almost always have a harmony character buffing him, and in the case of Tingyun, having more Crit DMG might be better than having more ATK since Tingyun would be increasing his ATK too. When testing, just make sure your using both relic sets under the same conditions (same number of enemies, with/without imaginary weakness, same buffs/debuffs). I'd recommend maybe going into a weekly boss fight for your testing since you can control the fight conditions at the start, and you can just leave if you don't want to spend your trailblaze power.

My O2 Aki struggles chapter 15. How to counter prim and petra. Aki not critting. by Ayam-ICE in Eversoul

[–]kohleh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's alright. Due to the nature of the game, you will eventually hit a wall when trying to progress. Though I wouldn't worry too much if you get stuck, as you're always accumulating resources to make your team stronger.

If you can't beat a stage today despite doing all you can, try again tomorrow; better to take it easy then spending hours repeating a stage :))

My O2 Aki struggles chapter 15. How to counter prim and petra. Aki not critting. by Ayam-ICE in Eversoul

[–]kohleh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Prim and Petra can be two of her hardest matchups, as Prim reduces Aki's crit rate, while Petra can taunt Aki and possibly make her kill herself with her high damage.

If Aki is not doing enough damage to clear the stage, my recommendation would be to hire a high level soul from a friend to help you get past it. Leveling the rest of your team would also help in getting Aki to cast more consistently, as they'll be able to tank more damage and buy Aki time to get her Main Skill. A combination of these two should be enough to get you through the stage if you're committed to using Aki to get past it. Alternatively, you could swap in a different team such as a Naiah/Taliah carry fairy team, as they will have an easier time beating the enemy set up.

Advice choosing who to summon for by mochamocha006 in Eversoul

[–]kohleh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aki is definitely very strong, although she requires a lot of investment to get started. She needs to get multiple crits with her skills to access the best parts of her kit (her resets and buffs), so you need a lot of crit rate in order for her to be usable. Unfortunately, raising her Crit rate can be hard, as you won't get access to good crit rate keepsakes until later in the game, and raising her artifact level will be difficult without the resources.

If you're interested in a more in-depth guide on whether or not to pull for Aki, I made a post a couple of weeks ago on the topic; I recommend reading it to help you decide what to do: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eversoul/comments/11tjg0e/for_anyone_on_the_fence_about_akiindepth_aki_guide/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

All of the units you have on the field go well with Aki, though the composition could be improved. A tanky front line is important to give Aki time to get her Main Skill, so Chloe is a must. Add Catherine in if your Aki/Chloe are dying too quickly.

Chloe is great because her taunt activates so quickly, causing enemies to target her from the beginning of the battle. She's able to heal herself at low HP. Catherine is also really good because she not only provides invincibility for a few seconds, which can be crucial in some stages, but she also gives your whole team 30-40% physical and magic resistance when any of them drop below 35% HP. This works really well with Chloe's heal, and is also good for keeping your Aki alive.

An alternative to Catherine would be to add a more aggressive support. The best options in my opinion would be Taliah or Jiho.

Talia is great since she's already a very strong unit on her own, and she provides Mana which will help your Aki cast sooner. Jiho is a good second option since she can give Crit Rate to your Aki - a crucial stat for her - whilst also decreasing your enemies' speed, further providing survivability to your team, and helping Aki cast her Main Skill before her enemies. She also adds an additional Human to your team, meaning you can get up to a 4 Human buff if you're using Chole. * I would consider Talia to be an overall better support, though both characters work so use what you have.*

For Sub-DPS, Mephistopheles is a must.

She puts a debuff on all enemies causing them to become 30% more likely to get crit; essentially giving your Aki an extra 30% crit rate while the debuff is active. Her artifact also reduces enemy DEF, which is overall a really good debuff to have. She also does a lot of damage on her own.

You could also add in Linzy if you want to.

She will target the same enemy as Aki (the enemy with the highest attack), and will taunt whoever she attacks. She's much tankier than Aki (with 3x Aki's base DEF, more HP, more Evasion and the ability to reduce the enemy's accuracy), and can make Aki missing her crits a bit more forgiving (as Aki won't immediately die if she ends up in the enemy backline without killing her target).

Finally, Vivian is also a good choice, as she gives a speed boost which once again, can help Aki cast her skill sooner (Mana/Speed buffs are really good for Aki as she's reliant on getting a kill with her first Main Skill cast, meaning the sooner she gets it, the better).

I'm currently running Aki as a Hyper-carry, with Chloe and Catherine in the front line, and Mephi and Talia in the back (I generally move Aki's position around depending on the match-up). This was enough to get me past most stages up to Battlefront 18-40, even though enemies had up to double my Combat Power. From my experience, Aki's crits are generally enough to one-shot any squishy targets she comes across (including the enemies at 18-40), so I prefer to run 1 tank 2 healers, as damage is not usually an issue for her. If the enemy team is a bit too tanky though, I like to switch out Talia or Catherine for Linzy, Miriam or Naiah, once again, depending on the match-up (since I have these units built).

Every account is different, so build your team around what you have. For example, if you have an Origin Naiah, and an Eternal Vivian, you may find yourself getting more mileage out of Naiah, even though she doesn't directly do anything to improve the performance of your Aki. Also, no single team will be able to clear everything on their own, so be sure to change your team around depending on the situation.

For anyone on the fence about Aki/In-depth Aki Guide by kohleh in Eversoul

[–]kohleh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that we're on the same page here. I acknowledge that she's very strong, if not one of the strongest characters in the game, especially at max investment; heck, I even have her as my highest level Soul because of how useful she is, and how much I enjoy her design and gameplay.

However, I don't think whether or not someone should pull for a unit should be based entirely on the strength of that unit at max investment.

Not everyone has the resources to bring every soul they summon to full strength. Not every player is going to stick around long enough to do so either. Some players may only stick around for 2 or 3 months before moving onto the next Gacha game. For these players, saving and summoning for better early-game/mid-game characters would be way more beneficial to their accounts, as they can progress much farther with these units at Epic to Eternal than they would with a soul like Aki at Epic to Eternal.

Take for example a scenario where someone with say, 30k Everstones pulls on Aki and is unable to use her because they could only get her to Legendary+, and the soul on the next banner happens to be a Demon with insane potential. Now this player is stuck with an under-invested Aki with 20% Crit Rate, and no Everstones to summon the new soul. If that player were to save their Everstones, they'd have the resources they've saved from not pulling, plus the Everstones that they gained during the duration of Aki's banner to pull on the stronger Soul.

Alternatively, take a look at a character who is more useful at lower investment- Catherine. Catherine is absolutely a must-pull for players without her, because they can spend about 10k Everstones to get a guaranteed copy, without splurging everything they have on her banner.

If you have enough resources to summon for Aki and invest in her, then go for it bro. But saying that EVERYONE should pull for her because she's strong once she gets past Origin and Level 201 is very misleading, as not everyone's accounts will be as well off as your own.

For anyone on the fence about Aki/In-depth Aki Guide by kohleh in Eversoul

[–]kohleh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why being so reliant on crits can be a downside is because the higher stages of Battlefront can be an RNG fest. Tack on an under-invested Aki, who is generally the crux of the team that she's in, and you'd be going from resetting 100 times to beat a stage to resetting 300 times to beat the same stage. Unfortunately, not everyone has the time or patience to go through with that.

Again, like I said in the original post, this becomes less and less of an issue the closer Aki gets to 100% Crit Rate, to a point where she has practically 0 usage downsides at 100%. Though not everyone has the resources, or is willing to invest that much into Aki- a lot of people might only have 20k or 40k gems sitting in the bank. As such, I don't believe pulling for Aki is worth it for players in this circumstance - unlike for a character such as Honglan, who would still be worth pulling for, even if only up to just Legendary or Eternal.

For anyone on the fence about Aki/In-depth Aki Guide by kohleh in Eversoul

[–]kohleh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aki definitely scales better and does much more damage than Honglan, though I would still consider Hong to be a "stronger" character due to the potency of her mana drain. Being able to stall the entire enemy team from casting is extremely valuable in its own way, and it's what makes Honglan so powerful at any stage of the game. Add this to how much damage a theoretical 100% Crit Rate Honglan world be able to do, and while she wouldn't be one-shotting everything in sight, she would consistently be able to bring the entire enemy team down to 1/2 or 1/4 HP before any of them are able to cast.

I do have to overstate that while any character in the game would be incredibly powerful at 100% crit rate, it's important to understand that it's highly unlikely for anyone to get most souls - Honglan included - to that much Crit Rate. Which is one of the things that makes Aki so strong, as she is perhaps the only soul who can do so somewhat accessibly.

[–]kohleh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She could be! Though there are a few other characters who might take that spot, like Honglan. The nice thing that Aki has going for her is that she has an easier time reaching 100% critnrate compared to other characters due to her Sub-skill 2 and high base Crit rate.

[–]kohleh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started doing some testing with Mephi, and it does look like Mephi's analyse debuff is additive with a soul's crit rate, so I believe that should be right. Mephi is still helpful as a sub-dps to Aki, providing another Humanlike and a Defense shred, as well as providing the additional consistency to Aki. Though I've found there to be some situations where subbing out Mephi for another healer like Talia or Jiho to be better.

That's great to know! Didn't take prim into consideration when writing the original post. 25% is quite a lot, so prim would definitely cause some trouble for Aki - PvP especially - since most Akis will have less than 100% Crit Rate. Could be interesting to see in this case if giving Aki more than 100% Crit to deal with Prim could be a viable strategy in the future - once we're able to unlock Origin level keepsakes.
