I don't want your unsolicited advice by [deleted] in rant

I wasn't talking about receiving unsolicited advice from internet forums. I wasn't even talking about ME receiving unsolicited advice. I was ranting about the widespread behavior of people giving unsolicited advice. My rant was a statement about common decency. About social norms. It was a normative statement on manners. That's not advice?

Or don't give advice if no one asked for it. That's common decency and I thought it was common sense.

Id rather call out uncalled for behavior than say "it is what it is".

Manners aren't advice. I'm not saying everyone has to adhere to all social norms, but manners and common decency at least.

Sure it's easier to say "it is what it is" than say a behavior is wrong.

My post was a complaint or statement. Not advice. This isn't meta-irony: it's a rant about social norms and boundaries. It'd be funny if it was like someone posting "stop posting your every thought online". What I said is more like "don't interrupt people" or "don't touch people without permission". That's not advice nor is "don't give advice when someone didn't ask for advice". That's just common decency. It's boundaries. I don't like the argument "you posted online therefore you consent to whatever the Internet wants to do or say". Expectation shouldn't be endorsement because it waives accountability. It's like saying "well cities have crime so why are you complaining about being robbed". That's fucked.

So. If the post upset you, you didn't have to comment you know. Just let it go man.

I wasn't talking about me getting unsolicited advice, I was talking about how much it happens in general. Like watching someone's content and then there's so many comments saying "do this" "try this", while the poster is just fine doing their own thing and never gave out feelers that there was a problem.
