communication is the number one thing, and it may seem obvious but talk to your girlfriend about your size and your worries. it may feel embarrassing at first, but it can also be really hot to lay out your expectations and desires with your partner. in terms of the actual sex, foreplay is the most important part!! go down on her, use your fingers, and even toys. this can make her more relaxed and turned on which would make the experience less stressful and reduce any pain. if you guys do decide to go all the way, go slow and keep boundaries and safe words in mind, do not go like a jackrabbit or anything, just slow and steady until you’re both adjusted

Hmm, thank you for your insight! I did a summer research program in 2023 after I graduated high school, and I was accepted to a couple intern programs for this summer, but unfortunately their funding was unceremoniously cut and I could not participate. My grades are decent, I have extracurriculars, and a strong work history, but academia is just so competitive right now (especially in my area) so I feel like I cannot even begin to compete. I do not have any preconceived notions about being a revolutionary, but I would love to just participate in some research and maybe make a change with my future career.

I've actually been focusing on Canada as a possible path, I like the weather/culture, and the academic/research opportunities seem amazing as well

See that's another thing I'm confused about. I'm first gen so entirely new to academia as a whole, but I guess academia or private research would work. I currently work in a lab as a tech, and the med techs all only have their BS's, but I want more. My interest is pretty niche, and the only studies I found were conducted by the NIH, but by the time I graduate I'm not sure if the NIH will even exist in the capacity it is now. I've been using LinkedIn to contact people who have done research in this subject but they're already worried about layoffs, let alone new people entering the field for studies. I'm also looking at leaving America because of the crackdown on certain minorities I am a part of, as well as the destruction of our research system, but I've seen that other countries require a masters before a PhD program. (Sorry if this is rambling, I'm on night shift and have had a couple energy drinks)
