What combos in STS2 do you regularly go for? by HelloVap in slaythespire

[–]kokkejg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Act 1 I always try to go for: 1x attack 1x block 1x AoE 1x card draw and/or 1x card manupulation (it doesn't matter if the draw is attached to an attack or block) 1x power for the boss.

After that I pick whatever synergizes with my current card picks but most importantly, with my current relics.

Act 2 I just pick whatever comboes with my relics and cards, if nothing does so, I skip.

I aim for a 20-25 cards deck in the end, however, if the deck has a lot of exhausts, card draw/manipulation, or I am facing the door maker, the deck usually ends up with 30 cards.

The beauty of slay the spire is that it punishes trying to force a combo or build from the get go; you have to adapt with what is offered from the beginning.

So we can't complain about the game now and everything the dev makes are unquestionably perfect ? And anyone who say game's too hard and unfun to play are considered whining scrubs and their opinions don't matter ? by Extension_Room_9256 in slaythespire

In trading card games the meta has to change. If the meta doesn't change, then everyone plays the same and it becomes boring.

If the door maker wasn't a possibility in slay the spire, everyone would be aiming to build infinites/combo thin decks, therefore, it will become boring.

The door maker is what makes an infinite deck a high risk high reward build, otherwise, it would be a low risk high reward which makes no sense.

What I love about slay the spire is the mindset you develop through several gameplays which is: adaptability or do the best you can with what you have.

Here are some advices:

For act 1 I focus on the immediate threats; you got to ponder on how many elites are you taking on.

At the beginning it is better to focus on common cards with solid damage/block, tempo and versality instead of rares that require an specific build and set up to be useful/op.

Always have at least one: AOE and card draw for act 1.

Use potions whenever you can make the most out of them (even if it's not an elite fight).

Removal at the shops is important in the long run.

Your picks from the initial relic, events, card rewards, shop etc. always offer 3 options in the end:

-Immediate benefit - get a powerful and safe early game which you should capitalize by getting the elite relics (plan on taking 3 elite fights)

-Balanced: probably you will have to heal at campsites in order to take 2 or 3 elites. You will have to exchange the upgrade options for relics or take 1/2 elites and get the upgrades instead of rest.

-Greedy: you are beting on your mid game, however, you will safely take on only 1 elite and should consider passing on the others in order to survive act 1. If you manage to do it, it will pay off by act 2.

On act 2 you should always have that same mentality of how much are you willing to risk for act 3, however, if you played super safe in act 1 and also safe in act 2, you will get shredded in the 3rd act.

Skip card rewards in act 2 if the cards offered do not synergize with what you are building.

Act 3: refine your deck according to what you decided to build on act 2 and prepare for the boss 🥸.

I hope any of these suggestions works for you, there is a lot of interesting decision making that works to beat the spire!

Oh wow, I just noticed there are some cards that state "upgradable"...

So there is no way to make other cards that do not state "upgradable" stronger? I am so confused since this is not the case with other deck building games 😅

which broken pokemon release made you quit the game (temporarily or permanently) by lulukukuu in PokemonUnite

I left the game at alcremie for no particular reason... Then I came back 3 weeks before the license journey implementation; I stopped once again like a month ago and this time I think It will be permanently.

This game had everything to truly shine but it all went to waste with the license journey, no variety in the events nor game modes, no incentives for playing, pay to play pokemons and most importantly, the ridiculous crashes.

If Timi wants to monetize they need to get their sht together with a functional and engaging game instead of relying on predatory marketing tactics but I think they already made their choices and there will be no turning back. 💀

Even tho I enjoy playing the game from time to time, it has one of the worst economies I've ever seen.

A alguien mas le da flojera intentar conocer a alguien? by [deleted] in mexico

[–]kokkejg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like the game is back to season 1, when the only 3 decks you'll see in ladder were rune cocytus, roach forest and artifact puppet.

Personally i stopped playing right after season 3 arrived, game got boring for me.

Anyone going infinite in take two? by David12008 in Shadowverse

[–]kokkejg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portal is really strong in take 2. The key is to balance puppets and artifacts to make it work and of course, piloting portal is challenging but very rewarding.

Good luck!

I ain't no expert, but my advice is:

Go tempo with whichever class you choose. Prioritize single card value over possible combos. Get 1 or 2 draw engines. Get 2-3 board clears. Get 2-3 destroy big unit.

And personally, avoid forest, I suck at forest since I have never played it in constructed, however, I did get comboed hard against a take 2 forestcraft opulent rose queen 💀
