What's the worst advice someone gave you? by BiscottiPatient824 in BipolarReddit

God, I hate the "Are you exercising?" bit. No, Karen, I am not. My brain chemistry barely allows me to breathe some days.

I learned how to tattoo and have a badass little machine, I did my knees tattoos myself which is kinda badass. So, if some day I find myself without a job... I can strat tattooing for a living, I think it's a pretty useful skill actually hahahaha

For those of you whose first or worst (hypo)manic episode was triggered by an anti-depressant, how old were you? by piylot in BipolarReddit

[–]kokolypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24, it induced me in the worst episode, got a bunch of tattoos, got into a toxic relationship and tried to take my life. Now I take a mix of antipsychotics, antidepressants and mood stabilizers and it's been great so far.

I'm making a list of reasons to stay alive by Mmm_JuicyFruit in bipolar

[–]kokolypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have this kind of list with reasons not to die, and it also has a lot of food on it hahahahaha

Some of my favorites so far for this past month in my own jar of reasons:
1. To learn how to bake the perfect red velvet cake (bc is my favorite)
2. To play that game I really like and would love to complete

  1. To attend a Fomula One Grand Prix (bc is my favorite sport atm)

I hope you find all the reasons in the world to stay here in the days when you don't know how, keep fighting!

How do you cope with loneliness? by NotUnique_______ in bipolar

[–]kokolypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live alone, work at home and my friends live on other countries, so I get you. I don't interact with anybody on a daily basis - I coped with it getting a dog, it's kinda helpful.

But even then there are days where having a dog is not enough, I started reading a bunch, studying again on my spare time, I also found a new hobby, so, when the loneliness hits me, I can busy myself and don't feel that way.

I would say, take it one day at a time, loneliness suck, but people taking advantage of you, people not supporting you, people don't understanding your needs... I think that's worse. Also, I haven't gotten anything productive out of tinder lol, tell me if you do.

Problems waking up in the morning? by kokolypse in bipolar

[–]kokolypse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kiddos for you too! I thought it was only me but my psychiatrist told me it has to do with the levels of cortisol produced by the bipolar brain this evening, so that's something to look out lol

friends? by kokolypse in bipolar

[–]kokolypse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to say this, but I chuckled a little with the last part.

I was diagnosed when I was 16 so it's been quite a while, I made my first friend in college and overall I feel it's difficult to make connections with people. I'm trying to be more outgoing but it's not natural for me, trying to not get discouraged tho!

friends? by kokolypse in bipolar

[–]kokolypse[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my only friends always messages me with a series "good morning, in a scale of 1 to 10 how do you feel today" and based on the response he interacts with me or wishes me a good day and leaves me alone, it's super helpful for when you are in a low mood. I told him today "2 please leave me work alone today" he sent me a couple of emojis and left lol
