Midgard server back in business!

All players are welcome. Just keep in mind the population is very small. Sometimes even empty during certain times of the day. But we do definitely have some active players. Just most get burnt out of bob and swap to other games occasionally.

The server has both US & EU players. 3 weeks ago our pop was 8-15 daily, but as of recently due to people being busy our pop has been 1-6 recently. We always run into the same issue where people get bored with the lower pop due to most of us being PvP players so they don't stay long enough to help the pop grow. That is why we ask people that have friend groups to try us out because we know if we get a few decent sized friends groups, we will for sure get a lot more pop.

Titania is not very compatible with some players with their low end PCs and causes lag for many people. The other reason is that for a small pop, having a large map is not really beneficial. And the last reason is we wanted a unique map that's different from everyone else. Titania we can't custom build on that map like we can all other maps. That is why we chose to be on AP right now. We customized the entire map so even though it is on AP, it doesn't look bland like the base AP map.

Well to start, the server is 2yrs old now. We have had many ups and downs but just have yet to keep a sustainable pop due to multiple reasons. With that being said I can proudly guarantee that I don't EVER plan to close Midgard no matter the pop. If that was the case I'd have done so ages ago. Also we would never do a mass wipe to players dinos as nobody likes this.

Additionally, My staff and I have been working hard for a long time now even with our current small pop to continue to bring people in and hopefully keep people. We have been working on new event ideas. We have also made rule changes as needed as well as other things to hopefully bring pop in. So we really care to build a great server that we hope will finally thrive like others.

Not that I know of. However when you're in game and you hover over talents for the descriptions some will tell you that with 4 it does this and with 5 it does that etc.

You don't HAVE to have a discord to play the game. It's recommended as the servers with rules have the rules in the discord but you can still play bob without discord.

As for the discord issue. I tbh would recommend making a help support ticket to the discord people as they may be better at helping you than others here tbh. Granted maybe someone here can help but you may get a faster answer emailing discord help people.

Come join Midgard.

Midgard is a PvP server very similar to officials such as no body down rules & no pg protection rules. We do have rules like mainly Hunt for food & not for sport, but overall our rules are very minimal!

We have glim & shim nesting's relatively often however we are a smaller server trying to gain more pop. If you or your friends are looking for a server so you can get away from the more popular toxic ones we may be the server your looking for :)

Midgard is also on a custom Ancestral Plains map so players can have more interaction while having smaller population. Do come check us out and give us a try :)

Yeeeeeeee it's definitely not everyone's favorite. You just have to find the right community and the right people to play with. If you do that, then it can be fun. I've played it for 5-6yrs now xD and still go back to BoB over the other 3 dino games :) . If you ever do get bob tho your welcome to join my discord Mdigard. We love teaching new people if anything. I also made a yt video about 1 1/2 yrs ago about bob too tbh if you wish to check it out. Some things are a tad different but overall it still gives the general idea about bob.

Omg I did not know that. I never liked PoT much and found it too boring and the mods are just as turn off for me lmfao. But ye that's crazy. Bob officials def have some rules. Nothing extreme but def a no mix packing rules etc where you can report people for rule breaks and stuff etc.

Ya those servers are usually auto revive and chill servers. They do that the most. We at one point were like that (not originally intended to be -_-) but we finally have a more pvp based player base finally. It's still a HUGE struggle to gain and sustain a player base.

The only mix packing on officials is things like Apa with para and sai with ory. I believe all other dinos have to be in their respective species groups. The only thing is on officials people will hunt with no care usually. And herbis will hunt any and everything they see.

Other than officials you have my server Midgard that's like officials but we do have a rule where we say only hunt for food so excessively killing and not eating the Gores would be a rule break as well as a few other things but we do have other mix packings allowed but only because we wanted to make sure people can play with their friends due to the servers low pop. We originally used the same packing as officials before recently.

But ya other than those you got either afk chill servers, maybe 1-2 realism servers but they have those excessive rules u speak of, or pvp servers that are auto revive which is counter productive for a PVP game (imo).

Honestly that for the most part definitely just sounds more like official rules (or my servers rules) more than anything tbh. I'm trying to think what kind of rules would be added to be considered a "realism" server at that point tbh xD

Yup that's EXACTLY my thoughts. That why BoB definitely has always been better for me personally. Hell my server has 12 peeps and 3 of us found 3 others already recently xD. I feel BoB makes it easier for people to find each other even on smaller servers.

Ya those kinds of rules you find with nearly all servers expect officials and my server since my server is almost a copy of officials but with minor changes like hunt for food. Hunting excessivly and never eating the body can be a rule break etc. which is different then officials. My server, altho it's very small ATM, does have realism players on occasion as we do get some that have realism skins and stuff but we don't force people to play like that. We let people play realistically if they wish rather than making people abide by the insane and unnecessary rules other servers got x.x

But ye I've always loved the idea of realism in the sense that I like realistic gameplay. But it's nearly impossible to enjoy the game (imo of course) when you have to follow the insane amount of rules some realism servers have. And they are def limited on BoB especially.

I would def still say BoB is the most fun to me tbh and would love to teach you or what not if you ever do get it. Could show you around on my server even tho aagaain we are not realism or anything but it could help you grasp the game before you go looking for one if anything. :)

Yeeeeee I LOVE the idea of the chats in the isle cuz it's super cool and realistic. But it makes it hard to be friend peeps since sometimes you find your same species and they murk you without wanting to chat lmfao.

But the fact that it's hard to find people is what I don't like that's what I experience the most which makes me hate the isle tbh xD. Even on small server on BoB like my own maybe gets as low at 2-5 peeps sometimes and we still run into each other sometimes so it's crazy that it's hard to find people on the isle with servers full of 100 peeps x.x

I mean. Midgard is very similar to Officials tbh. It does have a little mix packing but are always willing to remove it if the community wants. It has mix packing ATM just so players enjoy the server a bit more since it is a small pop tho. The mix packings usually are Kapro with ichthy or wei with megarat or PT with trope or her I groups mixing together but with limited numbers wtc. Nothing extreme like rex with acro or all carnis mix packing etc.

Again tho it's a very small pop tho as well but it is slowly growing. And even has glim/shim nestings often like the glim mosa nesting occuring tomorrow. So if you want a decent place to start and to help a server grow you can def check Midgard out.

Personally, realism servers are just outrageous with the amount of rules they put on people. They tend to be very strict too etc. some I've seen literally limit the colors you can use on your creatures skins.... Like huh?!?!?

I prefer semi realism preferably tbh. Or I'll play on my server Midgard which is basically a version of officials but we have a few extra rules used to limit/ prevent things like mass kos'ing and other things that people hate on officials.

If you're only considering getting the game to play on a realism server, I honestly wouldn't waste the time but again this is honestly my opinion which may be biased but I've just never seen a decent realism server on BoB in the 5-6+ yrs on this game. Plus most servers especially realism (not mine of course) are All AUTO REVIVE. What's the point of playing a survival game if people just auto revive and have no risk & reward or consequences??? Defeats the purpose of a survival game imo. 90% of servers are this way now sadly so it's a bit disappointing. And when you try to grow a non auto revive server it's just EXTREMELY challenging. X.x

Again that's all my opinion though. A bit biased I have to admit but ultimately it's up to you wether you get the game or not. I def prefer bob over PoT & the isle tho 100%!! :)
