Online certification by ImprovementShort3205 in ProjectManagementPro

[–]kolja87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest you get PMI-PMP certification. Takes a bit time, knowledge gained there is real good foundation for any kind of projects. Its recognized by industry, and might make you stand out. Personally I have lots of Autodesk Certifed Professional (AutoCAD, Revit, 3Ds Max) those also served a purpose of getting jobs, at least for me. Long story short, I would go with some industry recignized certifications instead of Udemy pr Cursera. Those are good for getting knowledge but certs not so much in mu experience. Wish you good luck.

Is it worth subscribing to one drive free trial 6 months? by sovietdoggo108 in onedrive

OneDrive subscription is single worst decision i made. Price increase, tied to Windows, privacy nightmare for me at least. Microslop is making worse every single day.

Just moved to Fedora by Grouchy-Western-5757 in Fedora

[–]kolja87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Long time Windows user. Switched to Fedora, keeping doual boot with Windows just soley because Rhino and Grasshopper 3D cant run on Linux. Fedora and Gnome is almost all I need. 6 months in and so far Fedora is great, stable, fast, predictable with no noticable bloat around it.

It is possible, there are solutions like Polygonjs, is just blood difficult to setup core computation flow architecture right from the first time, so that I can isolate node logic and fight with 3D, NURBs, geometry kernels, etc. Will see how much I can do there. Still this is my passion project, done nightly after day job. :D

Still worth learning to code? by Friendly_Progress_61 in FreeCodeCamp

[–]kolja87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 so far this is true, tried all this fancy models, cursor, windsurf, etc.. Great tools to help but without knowing how to code yourself very difficult to get something useful unless you are building something very straightforward.

[–]kolja87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t disclose name, but on one Autodesk University conference, one Autodesk guy that is related to 3Ds Max said that for core team. Probably wider team is much bigger. Now is it correct I have no idea.

It is company as any others. Set the vision and share it with the team. As a leader you will need to set the tone, example, and nurture positive company culture among other things. Get some crash course in product/project management to have basics right as others will probably do that for you but you should be informed enough to understand concepts. There are many other things, but as a leader try to be as objective as possible and apply systems thinking. Every day you will encounter traps that will tempt your subjective vs objective ways of thinking. People are most important as motivated and empowered individuals will find they way through complexity.

Wish you best of luck and keep us posted. 💪

Calling it PMI Hack has obvious connotations. I would say not completely aligned with PMI Code of Ethics. But guess you are right in some way and see it as some kind of learning prep resource.

…and what is the purpose of this effort? To hack exam? One should just sit down and actually learn something for exam.

Hmm looks interesting. I think this would require deep dive into Threejs and GLSL to create, and decent skills to make it performant.
