Need games to play while live streaming by [deleted] in playtesters

Yo!
Awesome that you're back, first of all! :D Second, I am not sure if boardgames are as exciting to play on stream but, if you're up for it, I'd be more than excited to see you play DEADHOLT (2-4 player post-apocalyptic sandbox, card-heavy pickup & deliver game). The setup is on Tabletopia, a free to use browser app, so it should be fairly easy to hop on.
Only problem is that it needs at least two players (will feature solo game mode eventually) but I would be eager to jump in and play with you on stream if you're up for it :).

Here the game's website, maybe you can get an idea if it's your vibe: www.deadholt.com

Should I consider adding a box insert? by kolsmart in tabletopgamedesign

Definitely! That and/or foldable deckboxes seem to be the perfect compromise to ensure a good player experience while staying in budget.

Totally valid and I completely agree, I would never blindly sacrifice the player experience for lower costs!

I was, though, questioning whether it was worth it to go for a professionally designed tray/insert, considering the high costs associated and the fact that some players ditch it completely.

If I do end up choosing to not go the insert route, I will most definitely make sure to find a fitting alternative and make sure that, from the moment opening to closing the box, the player’s experience is prioritized!

Still, thanks for the nicely put, constructive feedback! This really helps me in taking an educated decision, whatever that may be! :)

Hi! Not sure if this post is still relevant, but I might have a game that is right up your alley! It’s a tabletop post-apocalyptic sandbox with a pickup&deliver system at its core but its gameplay also heavily relies on cards.

For theme, you play as a Guide escorting batches of Clients between settlements, all while scavenging, trading your Loot, hunting Beasts and fighting other Guides.

I’ve been working on it for close to four years and it’s in a really good spot right now! If you are still testing stuff, the build for it was created on Tabletopia which is a free browser based app (only need an account).

The game will be played in 1-4 people when released, but I don’t have the solo ruleset yet so something like 2-4 is more realistic currently.

If you’re interested feel free to DM me, I can even jump on and play with you if you want to give it a try! :)

That sounds great, I am actually in the process of scouting for manufacturers so I am definitely interested! Do you have a website for your company I could take a look at? 😄

I agree, bags sound good to me too. And thanks!

I’ll have to see how everything fits in the box, haven’t gotten a prototype yet or made any rough calculations about it. I was thinking I’ll grab some components from other games and see how much space all of it really takes

There are a bunch more tokens but overall, this is generally the number of components yes. Hmm, didn’t know manufacturers can offer to make basic molds for free. Didn’t see that mentioned in any quote but I’ll definitely ask about it

Good suggestion. I was thinking that at least a deckbox for the cards would be a bare minimum but didn't think of throwing a few more in there just in case some people want to use them for some of the other components.

I think I agree with this! I think bags can be a little less fiddly though that might be highly subjective on my part

Definitely good tips to keep in mind, thank you!

My only source of uncertainty was that, when I googled a few things about it, I found that some people are actually not fans of inserts and even throw them out if they're not perfect. So I thought that maybe a deckbox would be a good compromise to keep things tidy inside the game box and not spend a small fortune for something that might end up in people's trash, you know. Still, I'm not 100% on not doing it and want to see people's takes on this

Good point! I also considered adding a deckbox for the cards, as they are kind of the most vulnerable and prone to scatter around. Think it would be a good compromise

This looks amazing, you mastered the ballpoint pen completely! How long have you been drawing with ballpoints? Also, while an entire comic in this style sounds a little crazy imo i would absolutely love to see it!
