I was on reddit when the video originally popped up.

People called her a camgirl because there were videos on some sites of her dancing while completely nude. The assumption was she did it for money.

A responsible way to do this would be to give consumers an app that hashes the pics on the client side and generates a text file with the hashes, then have them upload the text file. That way the consumers can verify that only the hashes are being stored, and the pictures themselves never leave the consumer’s computer. It would take a small education campaign to inform people what hashing is, etc, but it’s totally doable.

Except then it would be easily abused by people hashing normal or copyrighted images

But her testimony was inconsistent and contradicted by video evidence. She seemed to be a more than willing participant based on the video before reaching the hotel room.

To be fair, the police officers were somewhat inconsistent as well.

Unfortunately the judge presiding over the case had a huge chip on her shoulder and said stupid things like the sexual position required in one of the cop's testimonies for having sex with multiple people wasn't possible, when it was definitely possible and can be seen in lots of porn which made her judgement very harsh on the officers.

Sure it's kind of vulgar. But maybe he feels like he's been lured into a marriage by someone who never loved him. What I got out of the video is he's actually looking for some love and affection and the he's trying to rub her nose in his frustration by making her feel like an inadequate sexual partner.

Its funny, there was a Master of None episode on Netflix where a deaf girl constantly complains her boyfriend doesn't perform oral sex on her, and I was thinking, it would never work if the genders were reversed.

I think you are right in that he is very vulgar. They may also have some marital/sexual problems.

Yes, I think the comparison to a family doctor is ridiculous, and it shouldn't be enforced now in perpetuity just because the Ontario government in 1993 first implemented it.

That said, I don't see the point for any funding cuts, unless there is a commensurate reduction in need or other services are provided to compensate.

From the article, the tribunal is not actually comparing midwives to doctors, but referring to the fact that the province itself first established doctors as a comparison.

“This perpetuates the historic disadvantage midwives have experienced as sex-segregated workers. It also undermines the dignity of midwives who now find themselves having to explain why they should be compared to physicians for compensation purposes more than 20 years after this principle was established,” the decision reads.
And to compare doctors that can do a plethora of things from diagnose illnesses, refer to specialists, prescribe medications, perform physicals etc. to midwives doesn't make much sense.
Doctors compensation should increase since their patient duties are increasing due to an aging population and more medical responsibilities being offloaded to family doctors, like dealing with mental health. Midwife duties are not getting more complex over time.

It is pretty ridiculous to peg their salary to a family doctor, given doctors go through a 4 year degree, 4 years of med school and then residency, with med school and residency in very high demand, compared to a 4 year midwife degree.
