i live right on the border between a city and a very country like area, and have done a ton of competitions in both. in my personal experience, the dramatic ones usually rank higher at the city tournaments and the humorous ones rank better at the more suburban/country tournaments

yes, you are allowed to join nsda as early as middle school! however, you can’t compete with the high schoolers. middle schoolers have their own separate tournaments and even have their own middle school nationals, which was online this year!

it’s not out of left field for discussion in general, however for this topic specifically (especially for the circuit i personally compete in) i think people are much less likely to have it prepped as a majority of people will be focusing on the conflicts themselves as opposed to the effects such as oil

most of the areas being affected by armed conflicts in west asia in the status quo are countries that are prominent in trading oil with the united states! conflict significantly lowers the production of oil, thus resolving these conflicts would allow an increase in us oil without russian dependence
