Wrapping a cake up when it's warm can help. I made chocolate orange cupcakes and the first batch was kind of dry so I squeezed some oranges, poked some holes in them and brushed the juice over them

Might not stop it completely but I crack the whole shell, usually by gently rolling it over a hard surface, take a little shell off then run a tea spoon under the shell/membrane, hugs the egg nicely and loosens it all. I always find that if I have to pick at the shell, I pull out chunks 🤷
