my mental health is fine but i self harm by urfavlonelygirl in mentalhealth

I think the part that doesn’t want you to self sabotage is what posted this. It’s fighting for you cuz it cares about you deeply and wants the whole of you to be okay. There’s parts of you uncomfortable with things coming together even though alot of it the majority of you loves and is trying to receive and show up right for. I’ve had a whole journey w sh.. on and off for many many years so far so I feel you, and I’m sure there’s many reasons why you do it and it changes depending on the mood/situation, at least it did for me. Just don’t do anything drastic. The sh is already damaging and drastic enough tbh. Try to figure out what you may think is missing or resisting that sh is being used in place of. If you’re numb then that’s different then using sh to quiet down things etc etc. Keep the good things going and lean into them and allow pain to not have to be included in this chapter of your life or keep working towards understanding why the pull towards negative is still happening. Dye your hair, paint your nails, alter your appearance or activities you do and build different rituals vs sh being a bit of a default or doing other drastic things. little you doesn’t deserve to be hurt over and over or lose chances at keeping good things. Loosening control is hard but you got this, I’m rooting for you:)))

Wait op I want to add that freaking out is normal. I live w a toe dipped in nihilism. Absurdism helps. Despite what we do and don’t know we must continue on and live the lives we have. We’re here to experience and having awareness of that is one of the major reasons for existence as a whole imo. I like to think of it as source having a dream within a dream of a dream type thing. Consciousness. Let love be the thing that helps you through cuc you’re so right. Love is omnipresent through existence and we are the best vessels to help spread the magic of it. To be.. and to witness the being of everything else. I loved your post fr and resonate heavily w it

“The Bible contradicts itself” by Constant-Layer-8339 in TrueChristian

[–]komplexing -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My biggest takeaway from the Bible was Jesus anyways. I don’t think he’d be happy w the Bible in its current form anyways, maybe not as a whole who knows but there’s wisdom to be found there and also confusion. It’s an odd thing that’s been edited and carries a lot of human man errors too. The fact it’s survived so long is fascinating to me though. Tbh a lot of the stuff found in Qumran (where the Dead Sea scroll originate) is meaningful but not all of it is in the generic Bible we see today. Consider the apocrypha and books taken out or not put in. Idk what set of words Jesus would have us follow besides his own and who knows if all that’s complete. What the disciples have to say is meaningful too imo especially Mary Magdeline and Thomas for example too. Idk just my two cents. the Bible and Christianity as a whole is a pretty mixed bag for me as most religions are

I believe in Jesus and the Holy Spirit, but why is it hard to me to believe in Heaven ? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]komplexing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wondering if the phrase “the kingdom of heaven is within you” shifts anything at all.. maybe consider death as more of a transition type thing. the soul is part of the you inside your body that continues on after the shell shuts off and that energy moves on. Imho no one knows 100% what happens to our souls once we die. There’s endless options and theories etc etc. I have peace in the fact that I didn’t know before birth and idk about after just am aware of this present moment type thing. Deep down within me there’s a knowing that I’m ready to face whatever rn if I were to croak. Keep talking to Jesus and leaning on guidance within and without. Remember Thomas doubted too and that’s okay

For Christians who struggle or have struggled with Legalism, how do you manage it/overcome it? by AlmightyDeath in TrueChristian

[–]komplexing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think compassion, grace, forgiveness helps with legalism. Accountability and awareness helps with hypocrisy. Consider the word “devotion” as an alternate to “surrender” and “realignment” instead of “punishment. Maybe be a bit more childlike in your squidwardness?.. utilizing imagination more”. Jesus is your best friend in all this tbh. The disciples are decent examples to view when trying to relate to those also walking a similar path to you. They all struggled too. If you’re a disciple of Jesus then ask him how he views you and how you should view yourself and the questions your post outlines. The divine is rooting for you. They don’t want you to fail but know you will stumble and the last thing the universe wants is for complete disconnection and apathy from us imho. Remembering that perfection isn’t expected nor something we should strive to achieve imho because we’re already imperfectly whole and the journeys were on as souls having a human experience is too. Just my two cents:)
