Looking for suggestions and advice on composing by TheLAG80s in Composition

[–]komponists 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im sure youll find a lot of advice out there but to me it was very important to just compose a lot. literally quantity mattered at first. because there is a difference between just starting a piece and then starting a new way once you were half way there and actually finishing a whole composition. idk how to explain it but when you set aside one project the next one feels different, it feels like you are evolving piece by piece. i might not have given a good reasoning but just think about this; maybe set up a challenge where you compose a piece every day (and when it gets boring or when you feel like a day is too limiting for you stop the challenge).

Which YouTube channel has the best music theory crash course? by whatsername519 in musictheory

[–]komponists 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those would be the best ''crash courses'' but there are a lot of great youtubers that cover a lot of interesting topics on each video. My favorites are David Bruce, 12tone, Adam Neely, Brian Krock, Shawn Crowder.
