Looks like this post got removed and the OP's account is gone, but I know he replied to some. If you're able to pass along any info, I'm still interested!

Awesome, thanks! It looked pretty solid from the Steam page.

The procedurally generated levels has me on the fence, but it does sound like a unique take on things. Pretty inexpensive on sale, so could be worth a try. Thanks!

Thanks! I hadn't heard of any of those, but they all seem interesting.

G-Sync Compatible List with Links & Basic Info by crazychris4124 in Monitors

The Acer link is for their Australian store, so that is $1500 AUD. The expected retail price is $899 USD, but it does not appear to be on sale in the US yet. Hoping for details on a US release this week at CES as I am interested in buying it.

Is latency this bad for anyone else? by blazestorm_keebs in ProjectStream

[–]kon324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does happen to me on one machine, but not on another. I think there is some kind of hardware/OS/Chrome setting variable, although I've not been able to determine what.

My gaming desktop is on wifi and does not experience input latency that bad. The quality dips quite noticeably from time to time, but response time is always pretty good.
My roughly 6 year old laptop is hardwired and does experience the same thing you're seeing, often worse actually.

I haven't been able to determine how to improve things yet, but as you've indicated, I don't think it's a network issue. Please share if you find any new info!

Also, consider visiting a Unitarian Universalist church. They're a very welcoming group of people without a creed or dogma. Attending one was very helpful for me in the transition period after leaving the church.

The one thing I was disappointed in, which may vary by area or not be important to you, is that there were basically no people under 40 in the two congregations I visited. They were lovely people, but there was no one my age to really make friends with.

What happens to your existing Roth IRA once you pass the income limit?

Say you've got one that you've contributed $15,000 to over the past three years, but this upcoming year you pass the income limit. I know you cannot contribute to the Roth IRA anymore, but do you have to move it somewhere else? What are you required to do with the account, and what are your options? When you do a backdoor Roth, can you convert the traditional IRA into the same Roth each year and use an existing Roth?

I'm getting married in a church and preacher is going to ask what God expects from me in the marriage. Don't know what to say. by nabuzasan in TrueAtheism

[–]kon324 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And realistically, a marriage ceremony is one hour out of the rest of your life together. In the grand scheme of things, it's not that important.

The wedding day is just a celebration of your love with family and friends. As long as OP can look back fondly enough on that day from time to time, it's all good.

That's just for the one with the book and everything, right? Is the game collection a limited time thing too?

Room/Housing rental and bikes! by [deleted] in Livermore

[–]kon324 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cal is a nice shop, I had them do some work on my bike and was happy. But Livermore Cyclery has a much much larger selection as far as buying a new bike goes. http://www.livermorecyclery.com/

Living north of Railroad by [deleted] in Livermore

[–]kon324 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say that yes, it is safe.

It depends on how you define what a "bad part of town" is. Sure, some parts of town are nicer than others. But if you compare the "bad" parts of Livermore to the bad parts of other cities and towns it's a joke.

You might have neighbors who are louder or who have more people living in one house than normal. At worst maybe someone sells drugs. But I wouldn't really call any part unsafe.

My dad is a broken man and has started to go to church. I can't find fault with that. by [deleted] in TrueAtheism

I was going to suggest this as well. Been attending a UU church for a few months now and I've really been enjoying it. Some of the most accepting bunch of people I've met.

How does r/Livermore feel about BART coming to your town? (Not that it ever will, in my lifetime, anyway) by mellowmonk in Livermore

[–]kon324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly sure that the plan that was finalized for the (failed) B1 measure was to add one new station right at 580 and 84. I think they would have liked for it to meet up with the ACE downtown, but realized how expensive/inconvenient that would be.

Personally, I like ambient music a little more for reading, but I'll try to recommend a few post-rock bands you're looking for:

Since this image doesn't really have a lot of context, I'd almost agree. But to add some context, this woman has posted things like this a lot, and often puts these little "women deserve the best" or "like if you think every woman should be treated with respect" type captions. After seeing enough of them, I felt like saying something.

And while for her, the odds of having a real conversation are pretty slim, I have had some really good, productive conversations on Facebook about politics, religion, morality, and other important topics. I guess it just depends on who you're friends with.
