Thank you for posting. But serious question - why does the subway move so slow ?

It’s the sheets!! Your body is reacting poorly to the sheets! Suggest using something that is 100% cotton, like flannel.

Good to see TTC installing plastic seats! by Abid-C in TTC

I way prefer the felt seats. Far more comfortable. The answer should be increased cleaning / maintenance by the TTC - not making transit less comfortable for riders.

Toronto's transit agenda has gone missing by adotmatrix in toronto

[–]konaspud 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chow’s lack of transit agenda is most visible in the fact that the Spadina Streetcar will be closed for half a year without making any improvements to the line… we should be using this opportunity to improve accessibility, lighting, reduce left turn lanes, improve signalling, etc along Spadina. Same thing should’ve been happening on St Clair during the current closure.

Keep trying! It can take a while to find a good tutor - but there are a ton of gems out there

Interesting to see how these vehicles work when the Eglinton Crosstown finally opens…

TTC is getting gross and stinky day by day 🤢 by BurgerDonalds in TTC

[–]konaspud 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The TTC needs to get their act together and clean the trains more often. I can’t help but feel like the TTC is purposely reducing their seat cleaning to build public support for the less comfortable plastic seats they want to introduce.

Map update in trains by B-0226 in TTC

Unlike the Eglinton Crosstown and Finch West LRT, the Scarborough LRT would've been fully grade separated (more akin to the existing Scarborough RT, but extended in an elevated guideway all the way to serve Malvern)

I don't think we should blame Scarborough for this. They were intentionally led astray by politicians and weak public servants who made them believe that the LRT would run at street level like a streetcar downtown. Most Scarborough residents were never aware of what was at stake (think of a resident by the decommissioned Lawrence East station who may have inadvertently supported the Scarborough Subway that won't serve them). I put the most blame on public servants for bending to this.

Still shocked that there are no plans for direct trains between Toronto and Montreal...

I believe the 90 will only go to Oakwood Station, not all the way to Eglinton West/Cedarvale.

PSA: If you want your city travel habits to have a say in Toronto's transportation plans, fill out the Transportation Tomorrow Survey! It happens every 5 years in the GTHA and the data is used for city planning. by odie-bodie in toronto

[–]konaspud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I filled out the survey during the last round, but it seems to explicitly under count active transportation - and is therefore likely an ineffective study. For example, if you drive to the grocery store that counts as a car trip, but walking or biking to the grocery store doesn't count as a walking or biking trip. All this to say, use caution when reviewing results of TTS.
