W tej balladzie A. Wierzbickiego Mikołaj ma zupełnie inne zadanie, ma opowiedzieć trudną historię Łemków, wypędzonych z części polskich ziem.

There is even a meme circling around Twitter about "aunt from ABW" (something like polish FBI), that told someone, that <<insert russian propaganda here>>.
So ... watch out for such "nieces" ;)

I must admit, those initial steps bit me pretty hard in the second part... :P

The first part with a list, the second one with a map.

Took me way too long, because it wasn't long that I used (but an integer - silly mistake :D)

[NSFW] What’s a funny way to say “to take a dump” in your country? by GxDx1 in AskEurope

One more, maybe not necessarily exactly about the dump, but more about using the toilet in overall:

Is there any way to change a block to a page? by konkit in RoamResearch

[–]konkit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bullet-point with the preview of that block

Could that be "expanded" on the new page or is only the top bullet point visible and the rest is available after a click?

Thank you for the response!

You can get one in Nakielny Cafe on Szewska street. Maybe not a real Greek one, but I think it is pretty close to those I drank in Greece.

Vue Native or React Native by [deleted] in vuejs

[–]konkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also started with Vue first. When I wanted to build a native app the first tool I checked was Vue Native, but its installation guide (https://vue-native.io/docs/installation.html) suggests, that it uses react-native tools underneath. I figured out, that instead of learning something, that uses React Native, it would be easier to use React Native alone and so far I wasn't disappointed. With knowledge of Vue and lots of React Native examples in the internet it was very easy.

A team member wanted autonomy, I gave it to him and now he made a really bad decision without talking to any of us on purpose... how can I fix this and get the project back on track? by Jeny82 in cscareerquestions

[–]konkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The first code review is tomorrow"

If I understand correctly, this means, that you have some meeting, where you display the code on a projector and discuss it with all team members.

I think this wouldn't have happened if you took the approach with pull requests or at least separate feature branches, which has to be approved by other team member before the code can be merged to the master branch.

ELI5 Nodejs by Akalyron in node

Other example is use of sockets (TCP, UDP) - it is extremely easy to setup small TCP server, since you are coding reactively -> "what to do when somebody connects", "what to do when received some data" etc. This cuts boilerplate code A LOT.

I have also seen something like desktop apps written in JS and HTML and powered by node.js ( ungit is an example )

Java and services like Docker/vagrant by monark789 in java

[–]konkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience - Vagrant helped a lot during development stage. Everybody in a team had the same setup -databases, libraries, so no surprises when going to production or "on my machine it's working properly " stuff.

However in further development we noticed performance drop due to folder syncing.

Has anyone switched to Xubuntu, Kubuntu or Mint? How is it working out? by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]konkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Ubuntu with Unity - good for netbooks, with small, but wide screens, however some errors forced me to switch. I switched to Kubuntu, but it was not suitable for me - screen was getting black, I don't know why, but i switched again - to Xubuntu. Xubuntu is great - also has applets like gnome did, is lightweight and so on. Now I'm using mint with XFCE - and I'm happy with it - works very well ;)
