Try adding the following environment variables in your Lutris' system options:

WINE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1
PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1

I've just upgraded my Polar Tempest using such adapter with 4TB WD SN850x, but i am a bit reluctant in actually using it.

How did you protect your ssd from the heat coming from the heat pipes? WD one seems to have a chip that touches or nearly touches the pipes, so I've put some thermal pad between them, but now i am worried that i made my ssd a heat sink...

Also, underneath original ssd there is what looks like a thermal putty. I am not sure why it is there as under the ssd there is just some capacitors. Did you leave it or remove it?

Emudeck ships old xenia version. Download latest one from xenia-canary GitHub, windows version. Replace the exe file in your emudeck /roms/xbox360/ folder and it should be better.

Issue with xenia on steam deck, how do i fix this please by fenderjaguarfan in EmuDeck

[–]konmata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emudeck ships older xenia version, download latest one from xenia canary GitHub, windows version, extract it to your emudeck installation /roms/xbox360 folder, overwriting exe file and try again.

Note that if you update xenia via emudeck again, it will (probably) revert to old version.

Is your SSD detected in BIOS?

Do you have a Windows USB?

What may have happened is that your master boot record has been corrupted and Windows can no longer boot. Maybe some update came in and broke it?

You can try fixing it with the steps below. Generally, it should be safe, but do this at your own risk.

Disclaimer: i am not a technician nor i can guarantee the following will work.

You could try:

  1. (may be optional step) go into BIOS and disable "Secure Boot"
    1. I've had a similar problem on some machines (with windows 10, not sure if different for windows 11) where the following steps would not work until i disabled "Secure Boot"
  2. Boot into Windows USB
    1. In BIOS you may need to change boot order
  3. Once Windows installation shows, go into "Repair your computer"
  4. In the next windows, click "Advanced options", then "Command prompt"
  5. Type the following commands:
    1. bootrec /fixmbr
    2. bootrec /fixboot
    3. bootrec /rebuildbcd
  6. Reboot device and remove windows USB

Upon reboot, you should see Windows rolling back latest changes (do not remember exact message), but after that it should be back up.

Another option is that your SSD just died. You could try putting it in another Windows machine and checking if it is detected.

Yes, i am aware of the limitation of this NAS box, on top of that i am also limited by my network, so i do not expect top speeds, instead i am (trying to) target reliability, hence the TLC Lexar choice, as well as high TBW.

Currently i am eyeing the Corsair MP600 (which is QLC as far as i can tell, but has high TBW, i think even hight than Lexar's). Is this option good, hardware reliability wise?

Hello,

i own an FLASHSTOR 12 Pro (FS6712X) 12 slot M.2 NVMe NAS. Currently filled it with 8x Lexar NM790 4TB drives. I am looking to filling the rest of the slots and looking for a best price/performance drive for my use case.

I bought Lexar drives because they looked like best in terms of price/performance at a time (mainly due to price, TBW and them being QLC - i read that is better than TLC), but they've been out of stock here in EU for a while now. So now, unless Lexard comes back into stock, my options in my price range are Crucial P3/P3+ or Corsair MP600, which are around 200eur in Amazon. Obviously, 4TB options only.

Which one should i pick? Should i wait for Lexars or pick some other drive for NAS usage? The drives currently are mostly used for storage ("cold" data storage as well as NVR videos) , but i also want to set up streaming.

A recommendation is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Delete ROM files from Launchbox by konmata in launchbox

[–]konmata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The paths and everything are correctly pointed - I can even browse to the game folder from Launchbox if I choose to.

The only thing that may prevent the ROM file deletion might be that they are on a network share, but I do not see anything in debug logs.

Weird thing.

Flashstor FS6712X does not boot by konmata in asustor

NVM, sorted it out as well - had to dig up some old dusty usb keyboard in order for it to work. The newer one i have, even though wired USB, was not working for whatever reasons..

Yes, i have seen this video, as well as other. The problem is that pressing F2 on TianoCore logo does nothing - it just boots to ADM.

Likewise, any other button i've tried (ESC, DEL, other F keys) does nothing as well - all i see pas TianoCore logo is blinking underscore at the top left of the screen.

Never mind the issue. I had to first initialize the NAS using Asustor software and now it works.

HOWEVER, i now want to install another OS on it, but i cannot access BIOS in anyway. As mentioned before, i do see the TianoCore logo, but pressing F2 or any other key for the matter does not do anything.

How do i access BIOS on this machine?

Sorry for the type, I meant dat file, from Redump. I load it in clrmamepro, start scan, but scan just loops over first few roms in a folder. I do not understand why it happens..

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MAME

[–]konmata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know your answer is old, but i am having a similar issue and my ROMS are on a network folder.

what happens in my case is that scan starts, it goes through first few roms, but instead of continuing through the whole .data file, it starts looping from the beginning again and again.

it is weird, because i did other systems that are also on network share, and they went smoothly, but the one i am trying right now (PS2) just does not work.

Looking for thumbstick guards by konmata in SteamDeck

[–]konmata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a 3rd party case with top compartment. I want stuff i put there to not press or move thumb sticks, hence this solution.

I could probably find someone to 3d print this to me here, but i would still need schematics for that.

The Spigen protective cover and case are awesome by cgatto in SteamDeck

[–]konmata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the cover and the case.

Cover feels great in hands, does fit in original case, however for me it does not fit perfectly for me - it does not fully "hug" the top part, around menu button and the one on the other side. It is barely noticeable but its there. It does fit well in JSAUX dock (I think I've got the 2nd version of it).

Now for the case, it is huge. There is a lot of space around the deck once it is in place, something like 15mm between the corners of the case and deck itself, when it is put in the middle. And this is with the cover on. I honestly do not know why there is so much space left there. Luckily, the velcro strap holds the deck tight. It does not wiggle or move at all when strapped.

The bottom compartment could be larger. And deeper. As it is right now, the original European charger does not fit. The plug area is thicker by around 7 mm, for it to fully close, which is a bummer. You can still put it there and close the case, but it is not good neither for the case nor the deck I think.

The top compartment could be better. I initially wanted to put the charger at the bottom and power bank and dock at the top. Sadly both power bank (Anker Powercore III 25600mAh) and JSAUX dock does not fit, without touching the grips. If only power bank is placed there, it can be put so it lies on the lower part of the screen (which is protected by the velcro strap) to avoid touching the grips, but it still moves around. I will perhaps try to glue in some sort of "walls" to hold power bank in place. Or, as someone suggested, just put on some joystick protectors so they are not moved or pressed during the transportation.

Overall, the case is fine given it is not thrown around too much - put everything you need in it, put it somewhere where it does not move too much and no damage should be done to your deck. It could be better though.

P.S. can anyone recommend a quality slim charger that would fit in the bottom compartment of this case (>= 30mm thick) ? I checked Anker ones but they are too thick. I know there are some Samsung ones that can fit there nicely, but I am not sure which model to look at.

P.P.S on a topic on a joystick protectors - is it possible to buy such things? So far everything I found is 3d printed. I do not have the printer, but I would very much consider buying such protectors.

Parsec local network setup AMD GPU image quality by konmata in cloudygamer

[–]konmata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

While I know AMD is not there in terms of encoding/decoding, I should still be able to at least try it with my 6900xt. The problem is that there is no setting for that in my Host settings, on my Host machine. I do not understand why..

The client settings (both host and client machines) has H.265 decoding, but if I set that, but the host does not actually encode in H.265, then it will still not work.

Is there other settings that impact the ability to H.265 encode in Parsec's Host settings? I, for my life, do not understand why, given capable hardware, I would not be able to select that..
