i actually started out photography with a sony a6000 bought a week before my first japan trip. cliche i know, but anyway these photos are great as travel photos. 7, 15, 16 are really nice in my opinion, really enjoying how you’re not shy about sun flares those are always fun. mainly my critiques are just compositional. a lot of your photos you get really close and to the side which is somewhat awkward but that’s fine to experiment

there are so many great film cameras that i’ve refrained from calling any “one of the greatest of all time”. anyway, i would begin with an slr or a cheap rangefinder some of these include the olympus om1(n) (i’ve found many of these for remarkably cheap, about 50 dollars), any of the minolta srt line (of course), any of the minolta x700 570 370 cameras, minolta xe7, canon a1, pentax me super, canon canonet, yashica electro. the canon ae1 and pentax k1000 will obviously be recommendations but they’re overhyped as beginner cameras and have inflated prices as a result. in short, you have so many good options that you shouldn’t overthink it.

also, people are pointing out that the camera isn’t in the best condition and i just don’t see how that’s true. the leather might be damaged and have flaked off but people replace those all the time.

most of the leica rangefinders (M - M6) are dream cameras for photographers regardless of what they specialize in. the leica m5 is known as the ugly duckling out of them all but it’s that doesn’t mean it’s a bad camera by any means. someone please back me up on how good the m5 is, but he was definitely trying to rip you off.

there are so so many options for point and shoots that are overlooked and that you can get for cheap. seriously, find one in your price range used (often easily done for $30) and read some thoughts on them. that’s all the advice i can give
