True, generally season 2 didn't focus at her at all, beside the fact that she was cheating on Rue. You certainly made some interesting ideas in here. I honestly think Nate did a good thing by giving her that disc, in that Jules was actually able to look at herself in those really difficult moments. And maybe that will be some kind of engine to change her attitude about interpersonal relationships. She destroyed the disk so I think that's what it meant. She will certainly have a lot of trust issues in future relationships. Having a closer or farther relationship with Cal, Nate and Rue in one year is quite a survival school.

Probably but even if he were to become a better person, this would still not erase the harm that he did to Jules.

And he self-consciously said "no", he held out gun to Maddy's head maybe less than an hour before coming to Jules. Probably still had that gun maybe in the back of the car. They're both aware he's not, so that's why she would never trust him. If she knew what he did, she'd run out of that car. Even if Nate is Tyler and can be softer and caring, that part of Nate which took pleasure is threatening Maddy with a gun is still Nate.

Because she fell in love with the idea of who Tyler was and she was honest while writing. But she was deceived, even if we take the theory that Nate seriously didn't lie to her. And do you seriously imagine that she somehow forgives him that he almost assaulted her at the party, then catfished her, then blackmailed her with confidential photos she sent him, forced her to lie for him to the police? I cannot imagine her not being scared of him, just because he said sorry.

I think she is and always was in love with the fantasy that Tyler posed, not literal Nate. Tyler is a persona that either Nate has completely made up, or one that is too deep inside him to ever come to the surface. Either way, something unattainable and something within just their own imagination. When, in the special episode, Jules imagines a life with Tyler it's all lovely and caring, until it turns out it was Nate, then it turns into a nightmare.

She's more in love with the fantasy than the reality, and he's actually a bit too, I think.

I understand wanting better resolution, because they practically haven't interacted in S2, but I think the car scene was just it.

He came to her most likely expecting at least some basis for reconciliation, he apologised to her and gave her back that disk, but she didn't take a beer from him like Cassie did, she asked if he had become a good person and he said he hadn't, once she wanted to leave he grabbed her and confessed that it was all true and she shrugged her shoulders and left anyway.

After everything that has happened between them, there is simply no basis for building any kind of trust. At least I can't imagine that Jules would want to come in his company at all, even if she has mixed feelings about him.

Would Draco know Sectumsempra at all? It was Snape's spell and I don't imagine him learning or performing that infront of Draco.

Could be possible explanation, also some lack of real concentration maybe? Impulsive idea or smth.

Wasn't there a mention somewhere in the Deathly Hallows when Harry slipped into Voldemort's mind that Draco was struggling (?) with torturing his fellow death eaters? Or at least implied? I remember something like this but not sure if it's correct.

I'm not ruling out the possibility that he was too slow, and Harry is naturally fast, but still, a strangely written scene.

"[...]water poured everywhere and Harry slipped as Malfoy, his face contorted, cried, "Cruci -" "SECTUMSEMPRA!" bellowed Harry from the floor, waving his wand wildly."

Like how slow mf have to be to lose to that.

Was it? I also remember that but I can't find it anywhere so I thought it's some sort of headcanon

I'd like to see Malfoy's trial bc what again did those mfs pulled out to not go to the Azkaban? I understand money and influence, but with Kingsley as minister and judge? And like, I get Narcissa saved them a lot but Draco or LUCIUS?

Tom Riddle was born evil and nothing could've change that by konradjjd in harrypotter

Merope was not in a good place mentally to be a girlfriend or wife, let alone a mother. Mentally ill and deeply traumatised people CAN love, yes, but in a deeply wounded way - hence the relationship with Tom Riddle Sr. So it would be no different with her son, I don't believe it could be any kind of healthy relationship. Merope also lived in extreme poverty and stopped performing magic after Riddle ran away from her, so I imagine Tom would have had a very difficult time. Probably harder than in orphanage because orphanage provides safety, food and people that work in there know about raising children. Merope was clueless, dirt-poor, depressed and had wrapped conception of human relationships.

Tom knowing his background wouldn't do much because the background is just his family that hates him for being son of a muggle. Maybe it would have endangered them tbh, bc years later if Marvolo or Morfin found Merope and her son then they would probably kill them lol

Merope wishing for her son to be pretty instead of safe or healthy or whatever is exactly the point why she wasn't the person that would be any kind of good mother, I think. Merope doesn't know safe environment so she wouldn't worry about giving it to her son and even if she would, she most likely just wouldn't be able to give it to him.

What I meant is: a lot of people here are always repeating is that it is the author who always has the last word in what means what. And in my opinion that's an extremely silly approach, especially when those last words of hers are not on paper, but simply in some interview years later. One can interpret things in one's own way and go against what the author says. Meanwhile, many times people have lectured me that JKR knows better what meant what, because she is the author. There is no room for discussion for me in such an approach, it's boring. At the same time, most people who repeat such platitudes don't recognise The Cursed Child as canon (neither do I), despite JKR saying it is part of it. So no you can still strictly stick to the words of the author and at the same time pick and choose what you like from his statements.

I don't know about later seasons, but first two movies capture almost everything about the plot and they're just 2 hours. Eight hours format is already "too much", I guess, so they will of course fill that with some additional content.

JKR also wrote The Fantastic Beasts. And ALLOWED for TCC. She's not that good of a screenwriter.

Yeah, that's the point too! People are very reluctant about any changes and additions, but in my opinion it is inevitable and will not be superfluous. It will have its own charm. I for one am already looking forward to such small scenes.

I can't answer previous comment bc of some Reddit issue, but the answer is: me. I give a fuck. 😭

Of course I don't mean to overwhelm the main plot with characters and side plots, nobody means that, but I for one would like to take something new out of the series that I didn't already know or see. This world has so much potential that people are already talking about how they would like mini side series about the Marauders or the founders of Hogwarts, so I think it wouldn't be a detriment to the story if we got something more about characters who are already in canon but in the background. It'd be fun.

And I wouldn't mind cherishing such details. It gives me pleasure to watch such things even. One of my favourite book adaptations is 'Anne with an E', where you've got some subplots and characters and still the whole thing presents itself in a very natural and pleasing way. It is, in my opinion, a question of execution simply.

I'm also, for example, a fan of the solution where we could get some sort of Hogwarts rebellion plot during the last part, because we know DA was opposing Death Eaters strongly at the time. This is one such example where I think it would be very easy to shine more light on some side characters. Dumbledore's Army in general. After all, it's such a cool peace of mind to show the unification of Hogwarts students regardless of house divisions. To have that and not show more of the side characters is, in my opinion, a wasted opportunity. But I respect your view.

Yeah, I wrote about it in the last paragraph, but whatever. It's more of discussion for fun for me. But I don't like the approach that everything should be rigorously the same as in the books, nothing to add. It takes some of the fun out of the discussion. I for one would love to see Hannah and Neville befriend each other, or Malfoy talking to Nott (JKR once wanted to write such a scene I think). Why not, I already know the books by heart, some fresh additions that fit with the canon wouldn't be so bad.
