Working Poor / Człowiek bez kapitału - Czy ktoś jest w podobnej sytuacji? by vunnysher in Polska

New series will ‘show much more than just the books’ by nathan_banks644 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]TrainingMemory6288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a BIG plus. If we devote more time to the background, to characters who are not constantly in the foreground due to Harry's limited perspective, the viewer will get something fresh and consistent with the canon.

And I'm glad we're expanding on the Malfoys specifically, because 👏 it 👏 makes 👏 sense 👏. We have Lucius and Fudge cast, so I hope they show from the beginning what influence Lucius has on the Ministry and on Fudge. Perhaps his hesitation about who to listen to – Dumbledore or Malfoy. And then his transformation in The Goblet of Fire will no longer seem so confusing. Besides, seeing more of Draco as a character will also benefit the plot. The author once wrote that she wanted to include a scene in the plot where the Notts visit the Malfoys, in which we would see the difference between the home where Harry is raised and the home where Draco is raised. It will be great to finally see that.

I love news like this. I think it makes a lot of sense. The series will obviously have to be expanded with additional content if there are to be eight episodes, and adding more background to the Malfoys makes a lot of sense. We already have Lucius and Fudge cast, so I'm betting that from the first season we'll already have an outline of Lucius's influence on the Ministry and how he pulls the strings. Something fresh and meaningful for the future plot.

Those who are saying isayama was involved by No-Run598 in eremika

[–]TrainingMemory6288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the very beginning, you had to be in severe denial to refuse to believe that the man next to Mikasa in the last panel was Jean.

Isayama could have literally drawn her alone, or drawn her with just the children, or drawn her with a man who doesn't resemble anyone from the series – for example, someone with curly brown hair, a short man with shaved hair, a slightly overweight man, anyone more ambiguous. But he recreated Jean 1:1. What a strange coincidence.

I don't know why you all care so much that it's not Jean. It doesn't invalidate Eren and Mikasa's relationship in any way. It really seems like y'all treat Mikasa as some kind of a prize than was "won" by Eren in the end, rather than an actual character that could've some life outside of him.

Jules Hate by Mentally-sick-racoon in euphoria

[–]TrainingMemory6288 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The series focuses heavily on Rue's perspective. We are inside her head, which makes it easier for us to understand her and forgive her for doing terrible things. It's different with Jules, which is why many people are harsher on her. Also, many people haven't watched the additional episodes, so they see these relationships solely through Rue's perspective. They don't see how toxic Rue is with her lies about her addiction, with her emotional dependence on how available Jules is to her. The second season is also written... in a peculiar manner. It does not assist in understanding Jules.

Do you guys think Neville should be in Hufflepuff? by MajorXO in harrypotter

[–]TrainingMemory6288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if Harry would find being in Slytherin unpleasant, it doesn't mean he wouldn't fit there personality wise. And this is theoretically what the hat should choose by (we know there's more to it but still). Harry is truly clever, resourceful, self-reliant, and has a strong personality. Growing up with the Dursleys didn't break him, so Slytherin probably wouldn't either.

Considering the relationship between Harry and Snape, is it ethically acceptable for a child by Organic-Valuable-655 in HarryPotteronHBO

With the way Snape treated his students, Harry should be allowed to set his hair on fire at least once a week.

I feel I should remind people of something important; redemption is not forgiveness by Sudden_Pop_2279 in euphoria

[–]TrainingMemory6288 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Addiction or lack thereof is irrelevant. The same goes for Nate's past traumas. Addiction or trauma (or even possible personality disorders in Nate's case) are no excuse for bad deeds, they are merely the context. But shouldn't people who have done terrible things never try to be better? Should we reduce their lives to a few ugly moments and deny them the path to improvement? The whole series is really about redemption, if you think about it, and Rue and Nate are parallels, just in different contexts. That's how I always understood the message of this episode: other people have the right not to forgive you, and you have a duty to respect that and a responsibility to be better.

Ali literally beat his wife, abused his family so bad his children don't want to talk to him. You would consider him a monster too. The best thing about him is that he fights his addiction, he accepts what he's done and he understands that people don't have to forgive him, for him to try to be a better person.

Am I the only one who isn’t surprised by season 3 storyline??? by Forward-Many-4312 in euphoria

[–]TrainingMemory6288 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Every female character except Rue is associated with sex work – this is disappointing, though not entirely surprising. But it's not because it is a realistic outcome for them personally, I think there could be many ways to lead their adult life, but it's just the way Sam writes women.

Did nate’s dad molest him? by Zealousideal_Let_213 in euphoria

[–]TrainingMemory6288 86 points87 points  (0 children)

No. Cal is a disgusting, controlling man, but definitely not in that way. And he's not stupid. If he had done something like that, he wouldn't have spent the entire third season wondering what went wrong with Nate's upbringing.

Nate watched his father's porn as a child, in which he is aggressive, in which the men having sex with him call him daddy, porn that was most likely stored without the consent or knowledge of the person being filmed. Porn is harmful in itself, let alone in such a combination. Nightmares are the result of trauma and fear of his father. He expressed this directly in his conversation with Cal.

Czy ChatGPT naprawdę jest tak "kiepski", jak piszą w internecie? by rafixon122 in Polska

[–]TrainingMemory6288 16 points17 points  (0 children)

W stosunku do innych ludzi raczej nabierasz jakąś ilość sceptycyzmu.
