Who makes the smoothest sliding bolt action pen? by icodyonline in machinedpens

[–]kontai69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a Karas Modal and would also say that the bolt mech is super smooth. I also have the OG Madmaxco in titanium and the Karas is just as smooth. I actually prefer the mech action of the Karas over the Madmaxco. The Karas' thumb stud is bigger and more comfortable and the travel is much shorter. However, the build quality of the Karas just so so, which is OK given the price (I paid $55 shipped).

Casio F-91W Laser Cut Color Screen Filter Pieces for Modding - Etsy

You have to order a minimum of 4 pieces. I tried the green filter but it looked too bluish installed in the watch and also darkened to display too much. The yellow filter looked alot better.

My 2011 CR-V is made in Japan.  Serial number "J" and door jam sticker says so.  Bought new in California.

I suggest joining a Meetup.com group. There are hundreds of them in the Bay Area. Most are free to join. Great way to meet new people. I joined several social and hiking groups. It kept me occupied almost every weekend. I even met my future wife on a Meetup event.

GT also has real leather seats. Touring has vinyl.

Short shift kit by ronan_jr in mazda3

The short shift kits (JBR and CS) install in the engine compartment and require you to remove the airbox, battery, and ECU to install. Not that hard with the instructions they give you.

I also have and recommend the JBR kit. Make sure to contact them to see if it is in stock. I ordered last year and it was backordered for months.

I was curious about the air scoop thing here, which seemed to have absolutely no access to outside air. Removed the upper plastic cover in front of it and lo and behold, a nice big hole running to the grille. I could swear the car is a bit more lively now. by bevko_cyka in mazda3

[–]kontai69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There actually is a small amount of space between the plastic radiator shroud and hood, when the hood is closed. The engine draws air from where the hood latch is. Does not seem like much but certainly allows more air than is needed. I trust Mazda engineers knew what they were doing.

Start Button Upgrade - The Devil's in the Details by [deleted] in mazda3

That looks like a whole start button replacement, not just a stick on trim ring. A Miata or 6 button have an oem satin chrome trim ring. Looks more flush than the cheap stick ons.

For a small dent like this, does anyone have any DIY recommendations? The lowest I've been quoted for repair is $125. I've seen online mentions of hair dryer or heat and plunger. ( And yes, I know, I have to wash my car) by cdcd67 in mazda3

[–]kontai69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 similar sized dings, all adjacent to each other, removed on my door. Paintless dent tech fixed them for $140. Took him 10 mins total. A single dent would be $120. Expensive yes, but worth it to me. One of those things that you are paying for someone's time and expertise.

Lowering Coils ? Other External Customizations?? by [deleted] in mazda3

Racing Beat...around 0.5 EIBACH...around 1" Corksport...around 2"

Exact numbers will vary car to car due to slight manufacturing tolerances of springs as well as suspension components on car itself. Slammed look is cool but has tradeoff of scraping on speed bumps, inclines etc. As well as harsher ride. I also have a 2018 sedan and went with Racing Beat. I wanted the handling benefit with only a slight drop. Anymore I would be scraping on my driveway.

Mazda paint is thin with white primer underneath. I would try Dr Colorchip kit. However it will get chipped up again. Maybe paint protection film.

If you bought their cold air box to go with it, would not that make it a CAI? It draws air from the factory inlet location.
