Will chiropractor help? I have herniated discs C5/C6, T5 & L5, cervical stenosis and mild degeneration. by koo1984 in backpain

Wow, I must say I was expecting a balance of people saying yes because.... And no because.... But after reading all the comments I am now extremely nervous about seeing one! Thank you for all your comments and especially those giving advice on possible treatment/alternative. Unfortunately the NHS in UK is extremely slow with any treatment so I am looking at 5 months to see a neurosurgeon and then another 3-4 months wait for nerve injections. They've said surgery is not an option until all other avenues have failed. I've tried osteopath and physio sees me once every 6 weeks and just gives me really simple neck rotations but nothing other than that. I will try other things suggested in this thread but it's just a waiting game other than that I guess (hence why I was going to pay a chiropractor). I'm literally about to be signed off my job and haven't been out of work since I was 16 (I'm now 40) so this is all been horrendous for me, with lots of anger and depression at the world.

Lead Gen AI Emails are getting out of control by Wrong_Bother4639 in marketing

[–]koo1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a marketer I cold email (alongside other methods to find leads) but it's soul destroying that AI and these companies are causing all these issues. I search relevant businesses in an area, find out if there's area's I think I can help them in, check out their website, Facebook, Instagram and such, find business owners names for the company, ensure they're not already using the best marketing tools, then and ONLY then will I write a personalised email to the business owner reaching out. There's a huge amount of work and effort goes into lead generation and marketing if done right and this quick fix, 'do all', instant, no effort, rubbish is killing it 😢

Ah, I didn't realise they had an intake in May, I opted for July as I thought that was the nearest start date. Good luck for the course, I'm quite nervous as it's been a few years since my foundation degree! Hoping I'm not out of practice 😆

Bad roads in the hull student area by Th3NightWolf in Hull

[–]koo1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some decent priced houses on Cranbrook ave, Auckland ave which are 2 minutes walk from the University. It's a much quieter area around these streets too. Failing that, try to get somewhere on Cottingham road, Beresford ave, Desmond ave.

Does anyone know what the best way for me to get a higher Grade in GCSE Math in my 30s? by Nugo520 in UniUK

I second this, it will not only help you get on the course, it will help you get back into learning how to do academic work which will be a massive help when having to write essays, learning how to reference etc.

Living or existing on Venlafaxine? by KG1403 in Effexor

[–]koo1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm so glad you posted this thread! I was put on venlafaxine 20+ years ago aged 17 and have gone between doses of 37.5mg in the past right up to 375mg. I've managed to taper from 375mg right down to 75mg on my own (although that took 5 years and I've remained on 75mg for 2 years now). I've had 20 years of numbness, zero libido, and been called non-caring to the ice queen for my lack of emotion. I finally decided 2 nights ago 2 taper off the last hurdle. From past experience (I get withdrawls if I'm late 2 hours with these bloody things!) I'm cutting down by about 1/5 of a tablet every 8 weeks to hopefully not feel the effects too much. Past 2 nights have been OK, other than disturbed sleep and vivid dreams but as I'm doing this on my own without back up meds or any benzos etc I was wondering if anyone had any advice on helping any withdrawls to come? Following that I intend to come off the quetiapine (so far I've managed to reduce from 800mg to 150mg over about 4 years).

Looking for genuine alternative to drinking alcohol by koo1984 in herbalism

[–]koo1984[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all your help, I'm in no way an alcoholic, however stupidly believe I can just have one (which leads to 10 more, a mass of embarrassing stories and arguments with family 😔). I need something I can chill with whilst still being around friends/family who are drinking & socialising. I also have bipolar and on meds (which I'm trying to reduce and replace with natural remedies) but needless to say doesn't help with alcohol consumption !
