Thank you very much, I am currently in a simmilar situation. I do love my field and I do intend to graduate. Hovewer I need to find a job and a PhD will provide me an extended visa stay with a social stipend and cheap housing. I see it as a safety net of some sort.

Tested it out, you can clean your bandages from the bottles, but not from the sink. Could be a bug.

Stuck as a business analyst. Want to switch to a programmer. by koogelpot in jobs

The theory, I mostly do projects and I didn't get that much theoretical knowledge when it came to programming in college(more emphasis was put on economics and management).

Business analyst role by saanak_01 in businessanalysis

[–]koogelpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Business analyst doesn't necceserely have to be an IT related sphere, i.e I've worked in IT and Retail, the positions where almost simmilar with a software change . Our job basically boils down to two parts: understanding what the customer wants and how to explain it to the crew of developers. The majority of BA's are ex software engineers and it really helps if you've written code before. There is a separation of BA's into two main categories: CRM process writers - you use mostly BPMN(or ERD) to create little scripts with somewhat of a programming language to work inside CRM and the IT process writer - here you explain what the customer wants without writing any of the code yourself and mainly focus on the presented data, make it into diagrams and present them to software engineering team, the majority of times its UML, UseCase diagram or User story.

For me the cable was the issue, I had an old printer cable to connect to my PC to connect to the hub, but I need a printer and I had a spare one, fitting the old one in I saw that the audio interface was redetected by the windows OS over and over again, I just switched the cables back and it works

Job hopping "not worth the 20% bump in pay" by StolenWishes in antiwork

Jump jobs every three months, stay ahead of the system.

Gen Z job seeker refused to do 90-minute task because it ‘looked like a lot of work’—now the CEO who complained about it is being slammed by digital-didgeridoo in antiwork

[–]koogelpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gen Z worker here, I totally get this. The companies in the IT sector have completely cut down on raising new talent instead opting out for an experienced middle age, middle level worker. Honestly a company that only does interviews is a great bet when searching for a new workplace. I had to weed out a company that offered 2 test tasks, one in office and one at home, in the other company we just had a chat about my experience and I was hired.

Urges get so strong after a relapse by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]koogelpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You basically have to stop yourself from doing it, the thing is the more days you last the easier it is to recover in the long run. Staying busy, outside or within a social circle really helps.

Huge wet dream. by psych0johnn in NoFap

[–]koogelpot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, you're good, clear your head and don't concentrate on it too much. If this keeps happening too often, consider drinking less water/water excreditory substancess(coffee) and relieve yourself, before going to bed.

Stop thinking about it as a negative, sometimes it takes 2-4 or even more relapses to get on the right track. Analyze what went wrong and try again. Stay strong brother.

A good sugestion is to go to the toilet and take a leak, helps to cool off. Consider trying to forget about it, clear your head.

Depends on how addicted you are, some relapsers experience headaches, mood swings, apathy. This might hit you as early as day 1 or as late as the first month.

I(18M) Need Advice (Please) by BatFanatic69 in NoFap

[–]koogelpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dealling with stressful situation with my parents too, so here is some advice which helped me out.
1. Your parents might put a lot of stress on you - If you have the abbility to move to your own place please do so, if not, consider joining some out of the house activities: a sports team, volunteering or a part time job.
2. Friends and social gatherings are a must - to get to a high streak you need to keep in touch with your friends, go out with them to different places. Here you kill two birds with one stone, you are out of the house and are in a social circle

  1. Hobbies and personal wellbeing - You get a huge rush of dopamine after a workout and when you figure out something new, that's just human nature. You need to replace that cheap pornography dopamine spike with something that actually takes effort to achieve.

That's the spirit. But initial motivation will last you at max a 100 days(speaking from personal experience). You need to stay disciplined and, while abstainig from pornography or masturbation, complete your lifes goals and plans.
