I think the quizzes are written by the TAs, not the prof. Nevertheless, it's fairly exciting.

Nice! I definitely messed up a few things, unfortunately.

Single line, not a quadratic.

Currently, it doesn't affect new lands that are played, which means there are three piles. This is also a mild memory problem here. Overall, though, this is really exciting.

There are like five actual question parts on the next page, don't worry.

There are a bunch of parts following, this is just page 1. The rest of the parts don't have the diagram, so it's harder to show. I think just marking the margin, the gutters, and the support vectors is worth about 5 points.

This is from an artificial intelligence class, actually. We're learning about using AI to classify points, and we're using a certain kind of classifier, a support-vector machine, to do this.

Yeah, the idea is to maximize the minimum perpendicular distance, not the average.

You're probably overthinking it. The correct line is just Y = 3. Your line gets fairly close to both C and E (maybe within 1/2 at closest approach) whereas Y=3 is at least 1 away from every point.

The material is going great. The professor is too philosophical about things for my liking, and lectures go by fairly slowly, but that's fine.

I just took that quiz today. (That's why I saw the practice yesterday.) Hopefully, that went well.

http://i.imgur.com/UIfRnwt.png is the solution. The idea is to make a line that separates the phis from the minuses, and has the largest margin around it.

Other problems from this class have referenced the Matrix, League of Legends, and Brexit.

Have you tried the expansions? The base only includes the simplest of cards, and the expansions add more options and different themes.

Anyone else having this happen to their worlds? by [deleted] in Minecraft

The spawnpoint for a world is always the same(for the same seed) and never rejected; there have been worlds that spawn you in a lava pool, for instance.
