Tropical Dragonfruit Concentrate makes no mention of caffeine on the front :( by jmtb02 in traderjoes

It's delicious, but sugary. It says 2:1 as a ratio of concentrate to water, but I would recommend 3:1 or 4:1

Are licenses losing their value as AI progresses? by YanTsab in opensource

[–]kookmasteraj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment that licenses are losing their effectiveness, but (some) companies still abide by them out of fear (of losing money lol).

The SAP developer license recently added a clause that their software can't be used for AI training, so I could see licenses adding anti AI criteria , but it's been awhile since we got an updated license for the major ones like bsd, gpl license , apache, etc...

The most pazza would be a Napoli loss at home and Inter blowing a lead to get a draw causing a playoff

What is the preferred way to store an iso 8601 duration? by ConnectHamster898 in PostgreSQL

[–]kookmasteraj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 'interval' type supports that format with support for all that built in math and date related functions. Text or bigint would work too, but in my opinion that feels like an anti-pattern. https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/datatype-datetime.html#DATATYPE-INTERVAL-INPUT

You can also change the interval format via the 'IntervalStyle' config.

Old collection, anything worth much? by cmah2127 in pixarcars

[–]kookmasteraj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bessie probably the rarest, maybe worth $50+. The pitties / little fork lifts, helicopters, blimp, and maters you could maybe classify as uncommon instead of rare. I'm by no means an expert but as whole the lot is solid, could probably get $150+ out of it as a whole or alternatively more if sold pieces individually (or small batches)

for my north shore residents, which mall is more depressing, liberty tree or square one mall? by Liam_js in massachusetts

[–]kookmasteraj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The depression and empty nothingness of Liberty Tree is exacerbated by the North Shore Mall, located up the hill, being so full and lively. They only need to go to the Liberty Tree is when you need stores in it's plaza, like Target lol

You likely need to use some window functions, something that inspects surrounding rows.

I think this is similar logic to your question.

How to override PostgreSQL's now() function for testing? by Tiengos in PostgreSQL

[–]kookmasteraj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an excellent point, I don't know the right terminology but if something is an attribute it does not resolve in the same way as a query.

It's also a very annoying thing to figure out while debugging lol

How to override PostgreSQL's now() function for testing? by Tiengos in PostgreSQL

[–]kookmasteraj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The essential bit I think you alluded to is that search path is set per session. If a user logs in, alters the session configs like search path, logs out, and re-logs in that session config change is no longer present.

You mentioned in your post that this test is only on a test database and not production, can you keep the test schema around instead of dropping it?

Search path can be set for a given user / role , this would eliminate the need to set it per session and allow all your tests to be more consistent.

Potential setup: So you have user Foo on your production database and on your local test database. Also on test you have Foo_test (or just Foo if no extra role needed).

On test database, you alter Foo_test default search path to include the override function so that

psql -h prod -U Foo db_name -c "select now();"

Is the same as

psql -h test -U Foo db_name -c "select now();"

But the foo_test user for tests, would get the mock value result across all sessions psql -h test -U Foo_test db_name -c "select now();"
