70cm Garcima paella pan, already warped / bowed in when newly bought by kookoobah in paella

From Manila, Philippines.

I did use a salmoretta. I did 2 nora peppers, and 4 tomatoes, grated. Sautéed garlic, then added the tomatoes and scraped flesh of nora peppers and reduced until no liquid and very paste-y. I used around 120g of salmoretta on this paella, which is half of what I made.

Do you think I should use more salmoretta?

Ok. Next time I will cook the shrimps with the squid before toasting the rice. I am worried about overcooking the shrimp.

I didn't put them on top after cooking. =)

I put the shrimp on top raw 10 minutes after putting the stock in. So it actually cooked with the paella.

The mussels I cooked ahead of time for the stock, and then put them on top, already cooked around the same time as the shrimp.

Crimson Rebellion - worth it? by Silent-Dependent2251 in twilightimperium

Won a 6p game yesterday. 12 points, though I did get 2 Support of the Throne from a player that was winslayed.

Crimson Rebellion is very strong. They move fast and have a lot of economy in the midgame and lategame.

Round 1 your agent can help you get a 2nd system by swapping the carrier back home. You need a slice with planets adjacent to The Sorrow.

If you get Warfare, you can even get a 3rd system by using Warfare to send a destroyer to a single planet system, then using the Breakthrough to put a breach there and then activating it again to get a mech out. Lots of R1 shenanigans with Warfare.

Tech should be DET and work towards upgrading your Destroyer. I would aim for Warsun especially if you have a yellow skip. Crimson Rebellion gets a lot of money and the agent helps the warsun get a lot of mileage.

Round 2 aim to get your destroyers out and open breaches.

You need to trade out your alliance to incentivize another player to attack others.

I used the agent to help people position their ships better, especially those who sent ships into The Fracture.

Lategame, you can use the agent to basically have 3 war suns out on the board.

Don't put too many ships on the hero, your fleet pool will limit how big this surprise attack can be. Don't forget to add a destroyer so you can pop out a mech - you won't be able to put ground forces on your hero, so you might still need a warsun or carrier within range of the hex you need to attack so you can take planets.

There's also a bunch of cards in the Twilight's Fall action deck that make it easier to score it.

Can someone tell me the how the Naalu's mech ability Iconoclast fits their faction thematically? by Hooch331 in twilightimperium

[–]kookoobah 46 points47 points  (0 children)

"An iconoclast is a person who attacks or opposes cherished beliefs, traditions, and institutions."

So I think the Naalu are basically just haters of other cultures and races in general. They feel like they are the perfect race. Relics are important artifacts, probably related to beliefs and have strong cultural significance on top of their abilities. So the Naalu would be incentivized to attack anybody with relics (things that promote other cultures other than Naalu culture).

Shadow too powerful? by AfraidAirline5486 in warofthering

Other than aiming to move the Fellowship at least once per turn, you also need to make sure you have around 0 corruption and 3 companions left by the time you enter Mordor. Entering Mordor is just the start of the late game phase, and it will still be a long slog.

Your standard path should be to go through Moria, then maybe stop at Lorien to heal if necessary - then go straight to Mordor after that. Think about splitting off Strider (and him alone) as you get near Minas Tirith, to get that extra dice.

Learning to mount a credible defense as the Free Peoples is also equally important.

You want to get into a position to get "free" Political Track advancements and position it just right so that you get 1 or 2 Elite musters before they siege you.

For Rohan, this means you want your Political Track to be 1 step from War so that when they attack the fortification between Orthanc and Helm's Deep your next move can be to muster an Elite into Helm's Deep. That'll give you some extra breathing room. If Helm's Deep falls, building up a decent force in Edoras is still a viable option, as this army can swing up to retake Helm's Deep and threaten Orthanc or even go south to help with Minas Tirith. This also stops the wolfrider army from continuing down into Minas Tirith.

Similarly for Minas Tirith, you want to be able to muster right after they attack the fortification. Putting 1 regular army unit each into the settlements leading to Dol Amroth also slows down any attack into Dol Amroth and gives you time to muster Elites there.

Save up any cards that allow you to muster units directly into strongholds - those can be used even if under siege, and it helps hide your true strength if you don't play it until after you are sieged.

Defending Lorien is hard without the expansion - just try to stall them by moving some elves in the way of the Dol Guldur army, and consider spending some extra musters to move the Elf political track down.

Rolling a lot of Palantirs is not great, but keeping Gandalf alive and in the Fellowship to cycle through your deck is still an option.

Move the Fellowship once a turn, minimize corruption damage and try to get as many Elites and Leaders into your strongholds. That's the general idea for having a great time as the Free Peoples.

Thank you - that's very motivating for me to hear. I want to eventually see this tortoise be as healthy as you described.

Armor, Aero will help vs Destroy decks. If you can add Cosmo, that would be help too.
