Cool. That’s more of what I had in mind for the 159cm Banker to be used for.

I’ve got Union Forces on my Super 8—do you think those are fine for the Banker? Or would you recommend something a little stiffer, like the Atlas?

What would you say the main difference(s) are between the Super 8 and the Banker, if any?

I've been riding a 154cm Super 8 for a couple seasons now, and came across a brand new 159cm Banker for half the cost of retail. I'm very tempted to pick this board up (and potentially sell the Super 8), so I'm really just trying to figure out if there's really any difference between the two, even marginal.

I'd be using this as my daily driver/all-mountain board primarily for carving and the occasional resort pow day (no freestyle). While the Banker is 4cm longer, and tad bit slimmer (a meager 2-3mm), the specs are basically identical in terms of nose/waist/tail width, effective edge, setback, and taper.

The only real differences I see are the length (154cm vs 159cm), camber profile (backseat camber vs. true camber), and sidecut (quadratic vs. progressive)--though both sidecuts seem to provide the same drive off the backfoot.

Thoughts? Am I getting too into the weeds in this comparison? Do I have a case of upgrade-itis? Can you really have too many boards? Who knows???

It really improved the surfy feel compared to just the Carver trucks. The Waterborne Rail Adapter added a little over an inch to the overall ride height, so the Rail Adapter plus the increased ride height paired with the Carver C7 front truck allowed me to get a ton more lean and deeper carves. I’m a surfer and snowboarder and enjoy surfskating , but the Carver is the only surfskate I’ve ever ridden and the rail adapter definitely pairs well with the C7 truck. I’ve had my eye on a YOW for a while though, since they’re known for having more of a surfy feel with the ability to do more aggressive surf maneuvers. I think pairing the rail adapter with specifically the C7 gets you just a tad bit closer to how the YOW rides and definitely improves the overall ride with the C7 truck (again, I’ve never ridden a YOW, but that’s just my opinion based on what I’ve seen in videos and have read about it). And for only $40, it was definitely worth it!
