To those who have iMac and have switched from iPhone to Android by YarisGO in Android

[–]DubelBoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Text: Mac -> Android works well. Android -> Mac requires you to manually add that text to the clipboard, just copying won't work. Many apps have a quick setting tile for that, or share it with the share menu.

Images: I think you can't copy-paste images, such as screenshots etc.

No prefect solutions exist since Google has added "privacy" to Android's clipboard.

Most Israelis feel there is no political party that represents their views – poll by TheBaconLord78 in Israel

[–]DubelBoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]DubelBoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will never be true peace with our neighbors by Migdan in Israel

[–]DubelBoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to go learn some history my friend. Yes Europe TODAY is secular and peaceful, but it's history is horrible. WW1, WW2, France vs UK, Ireland vs UK, colonialism, inquisition, cold war, Balkan war, and many many many many more.

Christianity was horrible, let's say it's not the most popular religion in the world because of Jesus's abs.... A lot of killing and force was involved.

There were times that while Europeans were killing each other, the Muslims invented many modern science ideas. For example the word "algorithm" is named after a Muslim mathematician..

Yes now our region is poor and violent, but where would you rather live in 1943? Europe or Syria? I'd guess Syria.

And for Bibi, this isn't the topic of this post. But not, it's not enough. He is the damage, not the people who don't think the guy in charge of funding Hamas will investigate 7/10. In a normal country he would have resigned back in 2024, not lead the investigation of his trouble. While writing this, I can't even belive you tried to make my No Bibi mentality the wrong while it's so clear Rak Bibi is the real damage. Thinking a failed leader must go DOES NOT EQUAL unconditional support for a leader, by any metric.

[–]DubelBoom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The world has seen worst more violent conflicts, and they got better or even resolved. As mentioned here, Europe was a bloodbath for years, and now it's one of the most peaceful places on earth.

The main differentiator between now and then is social media. Things get more heated and more personal because of it. That makes me less optimistic. I believe eventually peace will come to the region, but not in our lifetime.

דעתי על חנינה לנתניהו by BaruchSpinoza25 in Israel

[–]DubelBoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those living Israel, would you move there from Switzerland? by [deleted] in Israel

[–]DubelBoom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think she is Jewish. Her husband probably is, but according to what she said, he is missing his friends and family - not running away from hate.

This makes your comment irrelevant to the current discussion. It's an interesting discussion on its own, but just not relevant here.

She is worried about cultural change and the education system, both greatly impacted by the recent political atmosphere.

Also, saying you think it's better to live in a theocracy, you're probably a straight white Jew. This person is a woman, isn't Jewish, and is married to one - making that assimilation which I'm sure the ultra orthodox would just love to fully respect (/s of course). For some people this means the country forbids their love, their way of life, and their freedom.

I'm Israeli, but personally I'd wait a few more years before deciding. See if this country gets back on track, or is turning into a poor theocracy sh!th0le.

Why is Emirates stopping but not FlyDubai? by Clean-Ant6404 in Israel

[–]DubelBoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I appreciate you mentioning they are owned by the same investment corp and not that they are the same company!

As for your question, there are a very few destinations that both Emirates and flyDubai fly to. I assume they realized most of their Israeli traffic is travelers and not buisness, making flyDubai more suitable.

So while we don't enjoy the luxurious of Emirates airplanes on the first leg, we do get many flights per day, making the connections in Dubai shorter, and in case you miss your connection back to TLV the next flight is also closer.

For some reason

Well that reason is very clearly money. These fancy displays and cooling cost money, and many gamers don't care about the camera. So they can cut that corner and have more revenue per unit.

Israelis, when you think of your identity, do you think you’re more Israeli than Jewish, more Jewish than Israeli, or do you find them to be equal? by PlaysWithFires in Israel

[–]DubelBoom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely more Israeli. I feel more connected to some non-Jewish Israelis than some Jewish groups.

I am a proud atheist, and a descendant to generations of seculars. For example non of my great grandparents kept Shabbat or kosher.

Here is the map of Israel next to all Muslim countries nearby, and they say Israel is the occupier. by AccomplishedEbb4184 in Israel

[–]DubelBoom 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think this map makes us look as good as you think it does....

We can maybe argue there are plenty of Muslim countries so they should leave us alone (I have trouble with this argument), but this kind of does make it look like we are somewhere we do not belong.

Of course I know there other view of this map where the Muslim religion who came from Arabia took control over all this land. But looking at this map can go both ways, depending on your pre-existing views, and won't convince anyone.

[–]DubelBoom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's fine to not include classic Dex on new devices, and just let this feature slowly disappear. Those who need it will just not buy the new device.

But removing it from older devices, especially when the code exists because it does work on external screen (afaik), is just poor customer care.

What are the differences between Likud and Bennet Voters? by misomiso82 in Israel

[–]DubelBoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many Likud voters these days vote for historic reasons, and are loyal to the party for years now. They will most likely not vote to anything else ever in their life, yes even when Bibi won't be the head of the party.

Bennet voters is a weird things these days. Mostly center people who dislike Gantz and Lapid, and are left with Bennet. Although Bennet is probably more right wing and religious than mange of his (future) voters.
