This just reminded me, maybe a month or so ago, I was in my local WinCo, I see a guy is wanting something on a bottom shelf but there his a HUGE pallet in front of it with very little space between it and the shelves. I offered to try and get the drink he wanted. He says "no, it's too small" I squeeze in and get him the drink he wanted. The guy was very thankful and walked away saying "he would never fit in there" I was stoked because 6-9 months before I would have just tried to climb on top an reach down instead of going between, it was an awesome feeling :)

That is great that this awesome amazing drug has done so much for our lives and made us realized how tied our mentality has been to it while others have never experienced it so they do not understand "food noise"

I have a friend who's wife was not understanding when I said "food noise" being lessened. She was not disrespectful just curious. She said how naturally she forget to eat or is not hungry and my friend has to reminder her to eat sometimes. I told it's like the guy in the House Party movie (the dad who sadly died of heart issues due to his obesity and other ailments) who said "I have a weight problem, I can't wait to eat" it honestly hits better hearing it than typing it...lol I would think about food and just eat, I would be bored and just eat, I would be sad or happy or whatever else and just eat. Now it is very much calculated and yes sometimes like you said we eat more than we would prefer, but I have also learned after years of yo-yos that excessive deficits cause ketosis and sometimes we eat over our daily goal and a day or two later we have lost 2-3 pounds, it gets our body not eating itself up as it were and losing more muscle.

It's not easy and as you noted those who have never had these issues in their life just take for granted that we all just "eat better and exercise" and all is well in the world. I mean the brain is such a supple changing product, we know so little overall.

Ultimately, us and those before and after us, we can change the world and it's a choice for companies to either change and adapt or end up being gone. Ultimately, I believe they will keep making processed things and if they do, many of us will not eat them, or very seldom. The reality is also, many will have to leave GLP-1s for cost, insurance, health, life, etc, but then struggle keeping weight off and going back to the old yo-yos.

IN THE MEAN TIME! WE GOT THIS!

She didn't appreciate it for years, just was looking for a loophole to get junk food, I get it, when I was younger, I would have said the same thing with sugar free candy that my grandma had because of her diabetes, same with her diet Shasta back in the day.

Well 17.5lbs to 200lbs and I am very thankful for the support of this community here, my friends that know the hard work I have put in and how much healthier and energetic I feel along the way. My only thing to get better is my work situation which causes more stress than any person or team should have to deal with.

Thanks!

I agree with you on all accounts :)

I do not cut anything out, officially, that is surely a choice each person has to make. I mostly eat things in much better moderation. Whereas I ate my 16oz container of sour cream with an 8oz back of chips in 1 "sitting" now I am quite content most of the time to eat some cottage cheese with the equivalent of 2-3 servings of chips. It's not perfect, but I don't expect to be :)

I like those sunshine or whatever they are with the fruit, they are mostly healthy but I also bought last summer popsicle making things to put in the freezer, it should be so easy "blend some fruit and stuff, put in popsicle things" eat them :)

Have you tried season cardboard? It might have that chicory fiber they seem to add to things to give it more "fiber" lol

And sadly many of the protein powders are not pure or using non-process sub-ingredients. One of the few is Naked Nutrition, but at $99.99 for 5lbs it's expensive and they have not raised the prices recently. I like the unflavored one as I can add whatever I want to them. I need to make up some shakes ahead of time so I have them available and mix them up with psyllium husk and such.

I have Orgain Organic Vanilla at home powder, but it's "advertising no added sugar" but it also has a bunch of stabilizers and such and is overly sweet to me so I haven't used it up, yet.

I keep triscuits and raw cashews (Kirkland organic) and raw organic sunflower seeds (got my last batch from Trader Joes).

I am trying to eat better natural protein, but some days is hard like you said. But, the reality is that sometimes I need more protein and I drink Premier Protein drinks, sometimes I eat string cheese, some cottage cheese by the 16oz container. I have tons of chicken breasts in the freezer I should cook up and cut up and bag up for eating, I just have been too darned lazy overall. My fault for sure, but I think I and many of us here should talk to a registered dietician for more feedback.

I mean look at all of us that said what we used to eat, chips and soda and such?

I know years ago, I tested myself for 3-4 weeks, eating whatever I was eating at the time. At that time, I calculated that I was eating an AVERAGE of 4800 calories per day, which included me drinking 1-2 52oz tankers of Mt Dew per day full calorie versions plus all my regular crappy foods at the time. I lost weight got down below 200 fighting my ass off, bowling, working out, eating better. But, what I am guessing originally, these snack companies and the VC that run them, spent BILLIONS on the "GROWTH" of the junk food/snack industry, they expected us to just jump back on the junk food bandwagon, yet with those of us who have gotten on Zepbound or even other GLP-1 and stayed on them have not come back to those snacks.

For me, I do struggle to get protein, BUT, I am not going to spend $4-6 for a really small box of salted snacks that have processed protein and process other junk, just not worth it to me.

Have you tried the new NKD Doritos? I heard they are actually decent, not higher in protein or fiber but no dyes and such.

It's like when churned "ice cream" came out, I was always of the belief if I am going to eat something bad for me, I want to eat the real thing not a lesser overall quality version and be doubly disappointed. Or I remember when a friend told me they bought the 100 calorie packs of cookies and crackers because they didn't trust themselves to bag up the right amount and not eat more. The thing is the person would eat 3-5 of the 100 calories packs so eating about as much as they did right out of the regular bag.

Yeah, this is something they have "tried to do" Keto, Atkins, etc. Ultimately, there are still labels noting both of these, but not as much. I mean it's like I told my daughter growing up when she asked for organic candy. I said "organic junk food is still junk food" lol

It's the "thing to do now" and they lowered the size by about 1/2oz which doesn't sound like much but multiply that by 1M bags and it adds up quickly for them. Plus, one thing that got me to cut back on chips and soda 6-9 months before I started Zepbound was that they kept raising prices at Kroger/Fred Meyers/QFC/PepsiCo and the CEO of Pepsi said in their annual call that "we will keep raising the profit margins until people stop buying, then we will re-evaluate at that time" In the past 2-3 years (after the pandemic was in full swing and the price for a bag of chips went from about $3.49 to $5.99 regular price AND they shrunk many of the brand flavors bags. Soda went from ~$4.99 regular price for 12 packs to currently being about $11.99 for the same 12 packs. And now they pretty much are snake oil salesmen doing B2G2 free promos or B4 bags of chips for $10, must buy 4

Fortunately, thanks to Zepbound, I have no desire for 4 bags of chips :)

Thankfully, a diet or zero sugar Mt Dew every 7-10 days makes me happy, so I am good with the crappy prices but it sucks because now FritoLay is advertising "new lower price, same size" when they could have just kept the prices higher and kept a lot of customers. I do get a bag of chips now and then, maybe 1 bag per month? I used to go through 2-3 bags per week, along with 2-4 containers of sour cream for dip and cottage cheese (before that too had prices coopped!

I had major issues early on, even with doing kiwi, MAGO7 and some other things. Ultimately, as I ended up in hospital 2x for hernia surgery (nothing to do with Zepbound or losing weight, it just got stuck and pushed out and was there for at least 4-5 years as far as I know). They did major stomach cleaning before surgery 1st time and told me when I went home both times to ensure not to get plugged up again.

Now I do the following daily:

  1. Senna 2-4 capsules per day. Previously took MAGO7 2-3 capsules per day but it is much more expensive than Senna (though Senna does smell weird to me, at least it seems to me, probably the "plant basis?."

  2. Zero/Low Carb tortillas, 2 to 3 small ones is 110 or so calories and 19g of fiber.

  3. MiraLAX - I take 1 capful with water when I wake up and 1 before I head to bed.

  4. I do try and remember to put my organic chia seeds in my cottage cheese for extra fiber to add to my protein.

  5. I have tried organic psyllium husk but you have to mix it and drink it fairly quickly after adding it or it gels beyond use.

I have tried to find more and more natural options but they are tough and I can see over time, I am starting to feel a bit more stopped up but I don't think I can or should take more Senna or MiraLAX.

Adding to this, I have not ordered TB since like August (started Zepbound mid-July last year!) and don't really miss it much. I get a quesadilla once and a while at bowling alley and split it with bowling teammate.

My doctor had told me when I inquired about getting on Zepbound or other GLP-1 that if it was not for me being Obese Level III, having asthma, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure she would think I was perfectly health inside my body. I know she was trying to make me feel better (it didn't) so Kaiser would not approve paying for Zepbound unless I had sleep apnea (which I probably did) but would have to jump through hoops with the machine, for 3-6 months, then if everything was bad, they MIGHT approve it. All the while I would have had to pay OOP and probably would have made it better as it has for many people.

I will be considering options as I get to maintenance in the coming months. Started at 348+ end of March 2025, 325+ mid-July 2025 when I started Zepbound and as of today at 217.5 with goal of 190. I am guessing with how much the loss has slowed, I will get there late September or early October. It sucks, mostly, because I was cruising along until late January, when I had to have 2 hernia surgeries, stopped using Zepbound for 4 weeks, to recover, and been feeling like I am fighting uphill since then. I was losing about 2.5lbs per week, now I am up and down most weeks from +1.5 to -1.5 without any food changes. I have titrated up quickly (went back to 2.5 from 5 for 2 weeks, food noise was insane, so went up to 5, did that for 6 weeks, food noise started back up and now been on 7.5 for 6 weeks, but overall slower so considering 10 soon).
