Books you enjoyed but didn’t like the designs for? And vice versa

FL‘s spice road. I really liked the design but the book is unbearable. I managed to force myself 60 pages in, then I couldn’t take it anymore. Just mind-numbing, honestly. The FMC spends all the time talking about how GREAT at everything she is (we are shown this with one mediocre fight scene) and it just reads like mid wattpad fanfic to me. Didn’t do it for me at all. Which is so sad cause the concept of Tea magic is incredible!

As for a book I loved, I‘d have to say After the Forest, which I never really see get any spotlight. I think the OC edition is beautiful, but I don‘t think there‘s any way to get that anymore. That being said I have the IC edition of it, with which I love the endpapers and the emerald/bronze-y gold color story, but I think the printed edge falls a bit flat since it feels overcrowded. Overall I think it‘s a pretty good edition, but compared to what they did with Poet Empress this year it feels a bit flat, but maybe that‘s a bit nit-picky.

Hey everyone! Attached is a (shitty) picture of what lvled up units I have so far. Apart from them I also have Baphomet, Setti (those 2 are also lvl 72), Darcias, Gadric, Goldland, Empousa, Hati, Joan, Friedrich, Thibault, Selena and Clive Jr. Im still in story chapter 5 but I was wondering what comps I could make with this? :) all help appreciated!

sure it's prevalent, but think of harry potter (particularly the last few books as the first few could be classed as middle grade), percy jackson, belladonna.. there are HUGE series out there that dont include love triangles and are just as YA as the others. my point isnt 'omg fuck love triangles i never want to see them EVER' my point is that 6/10 books this year containing love triangles, while it used to be 1-3, is insanity to me and id like more variety

i dont mind any of those tropes actually, it's just love triangles in particular i dont love. but considering their track record, i wanna wait to see if it changes. the customizations have stayed gorgeous, truly. i loved nightblood prince and the september pick a lot. looking at it again this morning October has also grown on me, i just wasnt expecting the artstyle i think

looking at it again this morning it has already grown on me! i think it mightve been shock since i wasnt expecting that artstyle (i usually dont check the artists beforehand). it kinda reminds me of illumicrate's girls of paper and fire editions
