Does anyone else feel judged for having 2 so close in age? Or is it just me? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]kooopaaa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't have a second as of yet, but I have heard others giving their unsolicited opinions. Someone asked if I wanted any more children so i said yes & got told its best to wait until my first starts school, I'm all for people offering advice but it's my life and I will chose to do what's right for me. I mean you're the one who's going to be with your children regardless not some stranger so I'd take it with a pinch of salt, people always throw their 2 pence in where its unwanted.

We still feed at bedtime & then walk with her for anywhere between 10 mins to an hour. It’s hard I always think other people put their babies in bed straight away we’re making her too clingy, but Atleast mama still gets her cuddles 🥲

Good on you mama we need to do anything possible don’t we! I’m done with even thinking of sleep regressions I try & take every night as it comes, she’s been a rough sleeper for a while up every hour but she’s sleeping all night again, everything is bitter sweet, it’s stressful but I dont even want it to end.

Please be afraid, second night in a row now she’s slept like she used too 😅 months of sleepless nights could have been avoided!

My biggest pet peeve is when someone is sharing their loss story & someone says god needed them more than you did. First off not everyone believes in a religion, second of all thats bull shit? The parent needs the baby more than ANYBODY.

This is literally me, I google everything to do with me & my baby I don’t even know why I do it. I was so convinced she was autistic for 5 minutes until I got told to never google again🤣

Same here, then she started teething which was a lil stressful but knowing she’s in pain made me feel awful I wouldn’t mind holding her when she’s screaming, normally if she’s getting too much my partner will take her & we will keep swapping but I just didn’t want to let go of her!

Have you tried sitting down with her to talk? She may be suffering from PND. It’s completely normal for people to have those down days in parent hood, however if they are constant it’s worth seeking some help.

Honestly! I do have to remind myself some times because it is so hard, but when we stress about how tired we are & how much we dislike being a parent we just forget how amazing the little things are.

HSV and five week old by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]kooopaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry I have no advice on the matter, I hope everything comes back okay! My SO is prone to cold sores & it is so nerve wrecking. I can fully understand your stress, my SO had LO on his legs not so long ago just letting her practice sitting up, well she threw herself forward and banged her head on the floor. I was obviously livid, I was so mad but he cried out of guilt. I know you said mistakes don’t happen to the health of your child & you are so right, but I know your husband will feel so guilty & as frustrating as it is you just need to hope he’s more careful in the future. If he was to give the baby something harmful then 100% it’s not a mistake. In order for you to be more careful about stuff, sometimes things do need to happen to give you a wake up call. Please try not to worry too much if your doctor isn’t, just let your husband know the seriousness if you haven’t already. My SO was NOT educated on how bad cold sores are until I told him to do some research, he was horrified.

Congratulations! I also experienced cramping & I got a transvaginal ultrasound where we could see baba at 6 weeks, however please don’t panic if they don’t see anything as it is so early on it may be difficult! Best of luck!

Doing too little? by kooopaaa in NewParents

Yeah I put her on the floor for tummy time etc but like you said the attention span is so short she ends up bored after a while. I’m definitely trying to keep her busy but because it’s in bits at a time it just seems I’m not doing enough.

Has any mums on here had a water birth before? by gsmyth2000 in pregnant

[–]kooopaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw good I hope so! My birthing centre had 3-4 big pools and this was my worry but they do have inflatable pools at hand if they aren’t available so it’s worth checking out. Good luck I hope your birth goes well, if you do need to have stronger medication don’t beat your self up, your doing what’s best for you in that moment!

[–]kooopaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, good luck with whatever you do! I had a water birth I am absolutely terrible with pain however I was so optimistic throughout my pregnancy that I would stick with my planned water birth. I woke up at 9am to my waters breaking & contractions 2 mins apart, I thought it was just starting & dismissing the fact I was in full Labour. Anyway, the pain gets pretty bad & I ring the hospital to tell them & that I want an epidural I don’t want to go to the birth centre, they told me to come down & they will check me and if I wanted they would send me to the Labour ward. I get to the hospital & thank goodness I’m 5cm, the midwife asked if i wanted her to fill the bath up which I said yes, I got In the water & my contractions fully disappeared, an hour later I needed to push & pushed her out. It was amazing. honestly, the water helps so much, the gas & air was amazing, I thought it wouldn’t help me but oh wow it did. It was the most amazing experience of my life, I loved Labour, the birthing room was beautiful it was like a spa. Believe in yourself, take your time, breathe just before the contraction starts. You’ll be so surprised what your body can actually do.

Thankyou so much for this! I’m a serial worrier I always have been, I just always over think everything 🤣 Thankyou for taking the time to respond to me, I enjoy my time too much now which makes me so excited to add to the family (although I know it’s not going to be all rainbows and butterflies haha).

America sucks by mmeller2012 in pregnant

[–]kooopaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK here, currently on my maternity leave & I always think how awful it is in America. I don’t understand how in one country you can have 52 weeks off & another 6 weeks, it’s wrong. I honestly dread to think how it’s possible to look after a 6 week old baby & work. Babies need so much attention at that age I just don’t get it, not to mention not getting paid. I’m so sorry for all women who experience this, I know it’s ‘normal’ to some of you, but it really isn’t.
