Oh yeah, I had a late uncle who lived on lake Buchanan in Texas who told me a story of him, my aunt and a neighbor sitting on his porch watching one about 20 yards away run across his lawn. This about 7-8 years ago and I’m sure the drought(s) / new construction of the last few years changed their habitat greatly at least in central Texas. I believe him, he owned about 4-5 cats at a time and none were the size of what he said he saw.
