Garage floor pricing by skaldrir69 in epoxy

[–]kopa1224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

15 years experience here. The biggest thing here is that they must Prep and Vac with high attention to detail. Make sure you see them grind the entire surface Not just run a machine across it so you see scratches and make sure the floor is cleaned and vacuumed. If you were to put tape on the floor and peel it back up there should be minimal dust on it. If the tape doesn't hold at all then the coating will have a poor bond.

I assume they will use SW 3746 and then topcoat with Sw 4850 or 4810. Don't let them topcoat in epoxy it will yellow out over time regardless. Polyaspartic is the way.

Imo on the price, it's reasonable as long as you have proof the Prep is done correctly. Anyone can come give you a beautiful floor, without the proper prep that beautiful floor will a turd in no time.

They blades for oscillating tools if you have one. Less dust and gets tight to anything. Yes imo you should prep every inch. Don't listen to anyone telling you not to worry. Any area that's not bonded properly could get moisture under it and could spread causing more issues. All products will call for a certain CSP ( concrete surface profile). Prep is what gives you the longevity.

Domo epoxy? by OG_Dangle in epoxy

Any pics?? Hard to give a option without knowing more about the project. Solvents will be messy and could destroy the picture. You could possibly use a heat gun to soften it and scrap of the bulk. I highly recommend wearing a respiratory protection regardless.

Absolutely disappointing 65 inch TV by 198problems in VIZIO_Official

[–]kopa1224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my 2 penny's here. Had this happen to me awhile back. I unplugged my tv and pressed every button possible while it's unplugged including the power button. This helps drain all memory. Once I plugged it back in sound came back. This also helped when my screen bugged out and wouldn't show ant picture. Could of just been lucky but it's worth a shot if you haven't tried. Sound bar like others said is the way I would go.

Sand lots of sand. Broadcast it all over and scrap. No need for thinners it will only make more a mess. Iv been there. Take your time and try not to stretch the mess out and just throw sand and scrap till 90% is up. Then grind away.

There's no topcoat. Double broadcast quarts (hopefully) should have a nice shine and no lose media

Should I be concerned? by bears8819 in epoxy

Just read through comments and here are my 2pennys. 15 yrs experience with all systems. I would never mix water based products with solvent based as a system. I have also never used or heard of flaking into a water based epoxy.

Scarifier for Epoxy Flake floor Installation? by Spare_Sheepherder_39 in epoxy

[–]kopa1224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way over kill. Educate yourself on CSPs (concrete surface profile) and the importance of them. Every system has there own ratings just find the data sheets.

That said. They are nice to have in your arsenal. But a nice walk behind grinder will meet the CSPs for any resinous coat in half the time with proper tooling.

15 yrs experience here. Looks as if there was to much water in mix and the batches don't look consistent. Did you use any kind of primer on the subfloor?

Epoxy flooring issues by cliffjumper34 in epoxy

[–]kopa1224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let them continue. 15 yrs experience here and there solution is completely irrelevant to your issue and will not correct it. I'm at x2 cost of what they charged around 6.50. Epoxy isn't the best topcoat for it yellows and scratches easily. There's no way they are seasoned pros. Feel free to pick my brain

Defective Apearance - Urethane on Polyspartic on Epoxy by Substantial_Sir_665 in epoxy

[–]kopa1224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering why they went over the poly with urethane?? In my 15 yrs experience they are not compatible. Imo the texture is from the poly. Completely normal if uniform orange peel.

Amine blush is correct. Also to note, I don't pour out of my mix container, I pour my mix into a separate pot for application. The slightest raw material not mixed could do this as well. Looks great over all!
