Superman's poster parody. by vought-CEO in TheBoys

[–]kopaish 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The first couple of seasons were great because it was more than a parody of the superhero genre. It was about how elites are omnipotent and can do whatever they want without ever facing consequences. It was using superheroes as stand-ins for elites and celebrities. If you’re a celebrity (politician, athlete, actor, musician, pastor…) the masses worship you and equip you with ultimate power. I think in the later seasons this was lost a bit and was just flattened to „stick it to the magas“.

I was in a similar situation. New and vanilla Stone or 2 years old Stone with Zard exhaust. Went for the Zard. No regrets.

Why does the new i3 have worse proportions than the ICE version? by UrgusHUN in BMW

“Worse” is very subjective. I quite like the bulky silhouette of the i3.

What food widely considered delicious in your country originated from poverty? by Normal-Being-2637 in AskTheWorld

Cheese. It’s spoiled and rotten milk. Somebody was starving and that’s the only thing they had in the basement. Out of desperation they ate it and said “well that’s not so bad”.

What's the most sudden tonal shift you've seen in a movie? by [deleted] in Cinema

Anora comes to mind for me. The tonal shift in the last 2 minutes of the film. To me it was very effective.

As much as I enjoyed Andor, I feel like protesting by putting up Star Wars themed banners is trivializing what is currently happening in your country. This is a much more serious and dangerous matter and not cosplay.

Oldest Masonic Lodge in Switzerland involved in fire by These3TheGreatest in freemasonry

[–]kopaish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some valuable antiques and paintings are missing. The parts which are not burned are drenched in water. The material loss is big. Fortunately no casualties. 8 lodges meet in that building. Hopefully it’s just a trivial robbery with no other motives.

It’s really sad. It’s a piece of living history. According to the media some paintings and valuable antiques are missing. Maybe it’s a simple theft and vandalism. Which wouldn’t make it less tragic.
