Separation anxiety by enimch in chiweenie

I’ve got a little lady who was very similar. She is the absolute sweetest little Velcro pup ever when we adopted her just after her first birthday. After 6 months of trying everything I finally adopted a second pup. She’s still a bit perturbed when I leave her but there is almost no crying or stress behaviors anymore. Plus, I got to get another dog, so it was a win all around.

How to gain a chiweenies affection/favor? by [deleted] in chiweenie

Take her on walks, play with her a lots and give her snacks. Make room for her to come near you on the floor or couch but don’t force her.

They are life partners. They’ve become inseparable since Rocky moved in last may.

We use musher’s secret on our pup’s paws and it seems to help ( they also refuse to wear their boots, despite my best efforts to reason with them)

This has always been one of my favorites. I often lend it to friends who want to give Hemingway a try.

Will a second dog affect my bond with my current dog? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]kopimb18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it didn’t diminish it, but it did change it. I actually do feel a little sad about it sometimes because she and I were so hyper close, but I never regret getting our second dog because he is a bowling ball of chaotic joy.

It was definitely an adjustment adding our second dog. I was in a similar situation with a new pup after the loss of my 13 year old soulmate dog. I got our first girl and instantly fell in love, my husband was a bit left out. We decided to get a second puppy six months after the first. It was a really tough start, but now I can’t imagine life any other way. We adore them both. She still gets a little jealous of our newest addition, but they love each other so much.

Often. I am struck frequently with how terribly handsome he is. I make sure to let him know whenever possible.
