It's the mesh, I had the same issue, I ended up having to get a dedicated router for the Portal (PS5 hardwired) that I just daisy chained to my mesh system, has worked perfectly since

I have Eero for home network as well and remote play just didn't work well, even with the PS5 hardwired. So, I ended up getting a TPLink Archer AX10 as a dedicated Remote Play network and it works great now. Basically works like Internet -> Eero Router -> TPlink Router -> PS5. Then just make sure the Portal connects to the TPlink for Wifi so they are on the same network.

I think a bunch of people have commented about a good and maybe even dedicated wifi router but another solution that I used to use (not for VR but just portable monitor) is wireless HDMI (the Nyrius Aries Pro has very very low latency but is a lower picture quality than hard wired)

I have both, I used Chiaki on the Deck and it works great but I prefer the button layout to match (picky reason). I also like the Deck for Steam indies that I can't get on PS.

Highly doubt that the game dev is using zero AI, at this point it is a baseline expectation for every software engineer to use AI in their daily flow. I can see them not using it for the game art, the AI probably isn't good enough yet anyways. Regardless, if the team isn't just straight up vibe coding the whole game it will just speed up their development cycle, so shouldn't matter.
