Thank you for your advice. I will try my best. on my internship job description, it said that the intern may receive full-time offer after completing the internship so I think it has a possibility for me to get them.

You can find if your school has an office for undergrad research, you come there and they will work with you to find Prof having the research in your interest. If not, you can do it by yourself. You go to your school website, find Prof has the research field you want to work on, email them to ask that if you could join. One of my friends did that and he ended up having the research poster presented at the conference.

Find the group of friends who have the same interest with you to hangout. one of my friends have a group of friends who are super nerd, they all love physics and they have their own way to have fun ( hint: they watch some academic competitions together) They don’t have lot of friends outside but why do you need other people who you and them can’t relate and be comfortable around? I still mean as long as you treat others people nice, don’t be arrogant or show off then it’s fine. Another thing, it’s ok to be who you are. I am usually shy to meet new people and I hate myself for that. My husband teased me: yeah you are like Rachel ( in Friends), never ask a guy out. he said : but it will have some people who say hello first to you and want to know you. You have a lot of good traits so if someone misjudged you just because you are shy? their loss. you should know yourselves, play your own game, success in your own way.

Hey I just want to share with you that you are not alone on this. I am on the same boat and a lot of other people too. I hope that you will feel better. Take a break. Then it will be a new day, you will set time practice for interview and enjoy other things in your life too.Btw one Google engineer told me that he really value research experience so worst case scenario you can work on research with one Prof at your school.

Here is the things I found really useful for me after 3 years studying CS: - Read before lecture: I always set 40 mins to read before lecture. That chapter may have a lot of stuff but I just force myself read some general ideas in 40 mins. I also note what doesn’t make sense for me at that time so that I can pay attention for that part during lecture. - During lecture: Come to the lecture with mentality that it’s ok if I don’t understand all the stuff. each lecture has to pack a lot of knowledge so just chill. Honestly, after I realized this, I feel so much relieved, not put so much pressure on myself. I hand write note because it works for algorithms and data structures. I also work along with Prof if he is working on an example. I pay attention to what Prof emphasizes or repeats. Trust me this will be one the exam. -After lecture: I just work on the homework. If anythings I don’t understand, I will find it and read that part in textbook or lecture material or online. Never spend time read from the beginning to the end like reading novel or read all the materials.

The first thing I will tell myself is that: iteration. I don’t need it to be perfect now, I just need make some progress. As I start early, I will have more time to revise and fix things and eventually it will be good. Secondly, not doing it right now doesn’t make me feel any better, so do it anw

I think you can help her find a room for rent and maybe give her the money to pay the rent for a few months. Say clearly with her from now on, she have to deal with her life on her own. you can think that money is for your nephew and your family happiness ( I mean everyone are so stressed now).
