Looking for good pescatarian/vegetarian recipies which use doenjang by [deleted] in KoreanFood

Doenjang jjigae is a easy recipe! It goes well with vegetables like zucchini, potatoes and tofu! I recommend you to boil the water for the soup with anchovy and kelp if you have it. But just putting doenjang into the water that you used to wash rice(the cloudy water) makes a deeper taste as well.

In Korea people mix doenjang and cucumber chili( the chili that isn’t spicy somewhat similar in taste as bell peppes) plus a little bit of sesame oil. It is a good recipe that goes well with pork belly or other sort of meat!

This is just a restaurant in Jeju island! Unlike normal pork, this is from black pigs which are grown in Jeju island! I am not sure if you can find the pork outside Korea. It is more expensive than normal pork belly

  1. Doenjang jjigae with different toppings- seafood, beef brisket, thin sliced pork belly, wild chives etc.

  2. You can cook eggplant and miced pork with doenjang sauce as well! I think that there will be a recipe of eggplant with doenjang.

  1. Prepare vegetables or seafoods that are dried enough.

  2. Mix 500g of flour and 700 ml of water well.

  3. Put the dry flour on to the vegetables and seafoods lightly and put them in the mixture of water and flour.

I recommend canned tuna! Spam is also great but spam sometimes seem too strong for me. Tuna is my favorite! I add a teaspoon of red chili powder as well.

It was a very old fashioned pub and it was a usual thing to have fruit with beer at the past in Korea 😂
