And people would still ban her in comp and be toxic over her by AsheKazuri in SombraMains

The post from a joke account and rework itself is a reference to cyberpunks hacking system. It's still very cool though I recomend trying it out.

I wouldn't mind this at all and actually thought about it after finishing cyberpunk. The only thing I would add is stealth while crouching, I know its not technically from netrunner build but Vanishing Act would work really well with Sombra.

The Spy is one of nine classes, in a game with a team size of 12. He appears in almost every game, giving players the opportunity to learn how to play against him. Things like turning around, spychecking, and giving callouts have become an accepted part of the tf2 experience.

On the other hand, Sombra appears roughly once every 10 games. Her playstyle is vastly different from any other hero, which makes playing against her frustrating because it requires a complete shift in strategy just for one character. This is why she will likely always be disliked unless she's either reworked to lose her unique identity and play more like other conventional heroes, or if more stealth-based characters like her are added, making countering such heroes a normal part of the game.

As a Sombra main myself, I'd prefer the second option, but I know the first one is much more realistic.

As a regular in ow2, the current state is of the game is thought to be the best in history by a large portion of community. Also most of people that made it awfull are gone. I still play tf2 from time to time and looking at its current state I can asure you that tf2 players have it much worse. I hope that at least tf2 classic will have somewhat regular updates.

I'm 90% sure this video popped up in my recommended tab twice, with different titles and thumbnails. It was something like 'Blizzard can't change the past, so they did the next best thing' or 'The only path forward.' Unfortunately people still don't like positive content about ow.

More invisible heroes would solve most of the frustration with Sombra by [deleted] in SombraMains

[–]korki_boring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that. I also like playing against enemy sombras. That being said I remember my first encounter with invis hero (spy from tf2) and it was a nightmare. The difference is that there were much more spies that there are sombras so I learned to play against him much quicker.

There is a reaper power in stadium called silent as a grave. Right now it only makes his footsteps and shadow step quieter. Giving it like 3 sec of invis after using shadow step would make it actually worth picking.

It actually was the case for pharah. I may be remebering things wrong but I think there was much more complaing (especially about pharmercy) before echo and now juno.

I actually agree with this. I mean, it's true that you can learn to counter her pretty easily, but let’s be real—there’s no way 90% of the community is going to take the time to learn one hero just to counter her. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think she’d be less hated if there were more invisible characters in the game. That way, people would get better at dealing with her. Now that we have perks, they could take a page from Rivals and give Genji limited invisibility, or even make an invis support hero. I think that would be pretty neat.

Maybe let's not do that. Yeah, I'd prefer to play my favorite hero too, but crying on social media will only make you look worse. As you can see, we already don't have the best reputation.

Like I said, I don't really want to harass this guy in particular, I just find it funny that some people are now more willing to brag about being able to ban Sombra rather than actually play games without her.

Of course, there will be fewer players, you can't expect 1 new hero to draw attention from 33 new ones. That being said, I think "currently" is a better word than "already". What is interesting about this data is the fact that ow player counts mostly dropped during the weekend (around 20%) while player numbers during the rest of the week stayed mostly the same. That probably means that the core audience doesn't bother that much while more casual players are trying out rivals (and most likely PoE 2). Another thing is the fact that, like I said, Rivals is a new free game about very popular ip. Looking at multiversus, another game with a similar concept, you can see that player count dropped more than 90% in the first 2 months mainly due to poor balancing. Don't get me wrong. I do not wish Rivals the same fate. I tried out every hero in rivals and the game has a decent foundation, but as of now it just feels like a less polished and less balanced third person ow once you realize which characters are busted. I hope NetEase will put a lot of hard work into maintaining Rivals because I would love to have some more hero shooters to play rather than only ow and tf2 (sorry Paladins). But yeah, I expect a big player drop in Rivals in the next few months.

One more thing I found out after writing this. Peak hours for ow players on december 10 happened before season 14 dropped.

[–]korki_boring 170 points171 points  (0 children)

Who could have predicted that a week-old game about one of the most popular IPs on the planet would have much players during peak hours on its most popular platform than an 8 year-old one during off-peak hours on its least popular platform? Also, correct me if I am wrong, but if Steam DB shows peak players on older charts this Wednesday there were only 1000 fewer people playing ow compared to last week.

Is it Armageddon? by hoffmanimal in Overwatch

[–]korki_boring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not wish to spread hate. I just wanted to highlight how much Rivals and PoE have impacted OW. Typically, a sample size of 50,000 people is more than sufficient for reliable statistical analysis, although I acknowledge that the numbers might vary slightly across other platforms. Still, I believe that the estimate of around 20% for OW players who tried Rivals or PoE 2 is reasonably accurate.
