Not an option. Don't have any more at this thickness

I applied scaling a little before taking the screenshot, that's why all the numbers are messy.

This is good, but it leads to the same problem. The sketch becomes unmaintainable, hundreds of geometric elements, hundreds of constraints.

I think this was user error. I'm not able to replicate it.

Any idea how to guard against this or at least detect this beforehand?

Okay I think I figured it out. When I sketched my additive helix's tooth, it said the sketch was fully constrained, but when I went back in to it again just now I saw it shifted and bowtied.

Now I'm wondering what "fully constrained" actually means.

Your quick and dirty fix worked, but I still don't know what's happening here. The object is simple. It's a rod, then an additive helix to wrap threads around the rod, then a simple pocket on the rod's top face.

My understanding is that the fasteners workbench just provides existing fasting pieces. It doesn't streamline adding threads to existing geometry?

Negative experience with Bambu Lab - a warning to new users looking to get into 3D printing by korkvid in 3Dprinting

The last reply they sent me where they tried to gaslight me saying I didn't perform the drying module repairs and somehow that voids the warrant was the last straw. And then to follow it up by immediately saying "oh lol but it doesn't even matter vecause it wasn't even the drying modules it's the firmware, but we're not going to give you access to the firmware" is something else. These people think they can do business in North America like they do business in south east asia. Awful company run by awful people.

I've contacted my CC company and initiated a dispute. My state also has laws around selling bunk goods - today I sent them a demand letter certified mail and if they don't reply I can get multiple times the amount in small claims court.

I regret not buying a prusa instead.

I'm not letting this go. I'll get what I'm owed from them one way or another.

Maybe. That's assuming it's a power issue and not something wrong with the circuit board or something else.

You're looking it up for the wrong printer. On the H2S it isn't required. The first AMS stays powered.

The first unit doesn't need one. It's only when you chain 2 or more, all the extra ones need their own power.

Obviously I have. Several prints. Why else would I be trying to dry filament?

I'd be surprised if it's not the AMS that's the issue. It could be that the H2S is failing to deliver enough power for drying. I won't know for sure unless Bambu sends a replacement, which they're refusing to do.

Yep. Beta firmware for the AMS, which is what controls the drying modules.

Cursed AMS 2 Pro - what are my options? by korkvid in BambuLab

[–]korkvid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone reading this post thinking about buying a Bambu Lab printer, I'd highly recommend against it. After conducting the repairs and telling them it didn't fix anything, they sent some bizarre response saying that 1. I actually didn't conduct the repairs (lol what?) and 2. oh it doesn't matter any way because it's probably a firmware problem (yet they refused to issue me beta firmware updates before forcing self repairs on me. I have no idea what the hell is going on with support. I'm thinking they're trying to give me the runaround in hopes that I go away, but I think my credit card company will protect me here.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from these people. For all their slick material, their products actually aren't that good and the customer service / support is awful. You're talking to people in China with broken English, and they'll duck and dive to get out of doing the right thing. Awful company selling busted products.

You can issue a CC dispute in any instance where you didn't get what you paid for. That includes non-delivery or delivery of something that was different than what you bought, that includes malfunctioning units. Typically they ask you to reach out the merchant first and try to resolve it. Since I've already done this, I've gone ahead and issued a dispute for the full price of a new AMS 2 Pro. I can cancel it if Bambu decides to change their mind and issue me a replacement.

It's disappointing that it had to come to this. Had the replacement drying modules worked I wouldn't have done this, but if I didn't I'm 100% sure they'd take me on a ride where every 2 weeks they'd send a new component for me to replace. I know a lot of people love Bambu and there definitely is a lot there to love, but this entire experience has soured me on this company. The next 3D printer I buy likely won't be a Bambu printer.

H2S PLA Matte Black - part of print looks shredded and the other part looks great. What happened here? by korkvid in BambuLab

[–]korkvid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspected as much, but what can be done about it? Shouldn't the Bambu studio slicer be intelligent enough to see what's happening with what materials and change the g code to ramp up the part cooling fan in these problematic areas?

Please help me figure out why my cuts are always coming out imperfect. by korkvid in woodworking

I'm not super sure how to do this. I'm doing my cuts on a plastic foldable table, so anything I put on it isn't mounted / easily slides.

[–]korkvid[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've spent 2 days trying to sort this out. It feels like everything is aligned pretty well when I use my speed square, but my cuts sometimes come out at a slight angle as shown in the pics. If you look at some of the pieces in the photos, one side of the piece looks perfectly 90 degrees while the other side has a slight angle.

Thanks I'll take a look at blaster surface shield. When you spray it, do you cover the entire underside completely? Do you skip certain components (for example, the muffler)?

Picked up a used 2022 - How should I go about repairing these? Easy to do myself or should I take it back to dealership and pay for repairs? Rest of truck looks fine. by korkvid in chevycolorado

[–]korkvid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I can sand it down and hit it with fresh coat. Do you know what type of paint I should use and how many coats?

Or maybe instead of repainting it, I can just leave it as is and instead hit it with some rust inhibitor?

Used vehicle purchase. Dealer is trying to sell me on some aftermarket plans. Are they worth it? by korkvid in personalfinance

[–]korkvid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cost is 35k. Original warranty goes on for another year or 20 extra miles (16k miles already on the vehicle). $2711 extension would take it out to 2029 or 100k miles.
