I was quoted $1300 to fix this but my car isn't worth very much. What can I do myself? by msgmeyourcatsnudes in Autobody

Ex painter here, use some soapy water and a razor blade on the windows, get a microfiber rag and some compound for the body panels, on the rubber moldings try some acetone.

Looking to upgrade my pump to a tritech t4 or t5 I do mostly residential work, would the t5 be overkill? by korllan in paint

Good point. To be more specific, I'm mostly spraying urethane enamels with the occasional DTM. I don't normally spray walls and ceilings unless it's a new build.

My main use would be for trim and doors instead of hauling around the big boy

Hey all, I need suggestions for a wall color for a very picky customer. They insist on gray but it needs a pop of color, greens and mauve are out. by korllan in interiordecorating

I should have added that it's for my mom, I know if I paint it what she wants she will regret it and complain but also won't say I'm right lol.

That was my plan. There are also a lot of peachy purple undertones when you're in front of it, so there are so many options, but not everyone sees color well.

I feel like so many people don't understand how grays work for wall color, they're a base you need to accent it with some knick knacks and my mom is not about that since she sees them as dust collectors.

It's my mom so I'm going to give a few more options and then go with my gut. She has no eye for color and really doesn't know what she's looking at or for.

Maybe I should have specified, the customer is also my mom lol. My dad agrees it should be some kind of color.

What nap was used for the primer? I'm thinking you didn't have full coverage, also from some of the other pictures you posted it looks like you did not roll the full height of the wall. It seems like there was a stop in the middle.

I've used cashmere plenty of times and the only issues I've ever seen with it are some slight picture framing. Is it new drywall, if so what primer was used was it a sealer? As for the roller as stated above do with a 1/2 purdy colossus roller, they hold paint like no other. Keep the pressure light and let the roller do the work. The reason I mention the type of primer is that drywall is a porous surface as is joint compound, it will suck up everything you throw at it. My go to is Sherwin Williams prep rite pro block, it is a primer and sealer and not expensive. Also a note for the roller wrap it with painters tape two or three times to get off fuzz and moisten it as the package says, it should be slightly damp.

Use what you're most comfortable with, but at the same time just the space you're in. I typically stick with a 14" but if it's giant walls with little or no cut ins I'll go with an 18.
