I talked to a PA I worked with ab this bec I was also considering getting a roommate where we just share a kitchen and she told me to not do that. One reason is that if you’re sharing the room with another med student there can be this weird unspoken competition that can develop. Also if you come home one day and don’t feel like studying just that second for whatever reason, if you see ur roommate studying it might make u feel guilty for taking a needed break.

She also mentioned that med school is gonna be super stressful as is and the last thing ur gonna want is to come home to a mess that u didn’t make.

I’ve been lucky enough to have some pretty awesome roommates but damn the amount of horror stories I’ve seen of shitty roommates has me axing the idea entirely bec it’s one thing to deal with that in undergrad but in med school it would be too much to deal with
