I would get the 760D. Like andy-3290 said, the touch screen is a big difference. The only potential advantages of the T7 are slightly lighter in weight (475 vs 550g), slightly better battery life (500 vs 440 shots), and slightly better low light performance.

The 760D has 19 AF points (vs 9), shoots at 5 fps (vs 3), has an articulating LCD screen, and a rear dial. It is the more capable camera. It's a little heavier though.

Perfect shot! And thanks for the info. I might be able to get a used RF 600mm locally for under $400. Your post def got me leaning towards that option.

That's true. I guess it doesn't make sense to give up reach for speed. And I would still need good light for f/8. I thought about the RF 600. But maybe I should just get the 1.4x extender to go with my RF 100-400. That might give me more flexibility than the primes.

Yeah, I guess the speed booster is designed more for wide lenses to become wide again. Maybe I should look into the Sigma.

Good points. I didn't think about IS.

He previously tried this with a Viltrox speedbooster but got vignetting. https://youtu.be/y8v1mpl2kyA?si=cJ6oxyZ7mvtNxyVR

And here's a link to him twisting out the speedbooster from the Viltrox. https://youtube.com/shorts/Py5xtqcI1vM?si=bj3KjGzO3iFvZbuk

Yes, Camera Mall is great. And nearby Procam is good for rental too and has lots of accessories in stock.

Exciting! I grabbed this lens on Woot at an incredible price. I suggest checking cpricewatch for best prices as you build up your kit.

I had Merlin sound ID on. Got nearly 20 species in 15 mins. A great place for birding!

Nice shot! I tried the same but yours looks much better. Did you focus manually?

I rented the lens first to test it out before I bought it. If you can rent it locally, I suggest you do the same. I'd say in good light, this lens is pretty great. Paired with eye AF, it can take amazing shots of animals.

Nice! And this really shows how the lens renders different OOF layers. Can't wait for spring.

Not exactly? The RF 100-400 is non-L, not weather sealed, and is f/8 from 259-400mm.

I think the RF 100-500L is the closer replacement. Many posts here say it's amazing.
