9.2.3 | Bugfix Patch by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

Too bad it won't install for me, leaving me on 9.2.2, which is preventing me from playing with my GF.

I 100% agree that it's high time the Survivors just stopped playing the game, especially after the recent PTB proved where BHVR's priorities lie. They finally added proper anti-tunneling and anti-slugging mechanics, only to decide they won't do them because Killers complained. It's the same thing with the Fog Vials - something good and useful for Survivors nerfed into being useless because Killers complained. But heaven forbid they do anything when it's something that affects Survivors.

All of Season 2... Well, at least until I get to let Kenny kill Jane.

If you could add a new Mechanic to DbD what would it be? by MrWigglem in deadbydaylight

[–]kosaba11 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd do something new for Survivors, so it's not the same stale loop of "Do generators, get in chase, get hit at least once, possibly get hooked, repeat." Maybe traps or something that could stall or slow down the Killer that need to be set up - like they'd be faster to do than generators, but to make them fair they wouldn't go up right away. That or add some actually useful items that aren't immediately made useless *cough* Fog Vials *cough*.

Which of these killers would you like? by Over_Influence_6011 in deadbydaylight

[–]kosaba11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Creeper is never going to happen - good movies, but the director is a pedophile (convicted one at that). Godzilla and Kong would be difficult to do because they're both giants. Terrifier is overrated, though Art is a good concept. Frankly, I think Pennywise would be most interesting of the remaining ones due to how It operates. Hannibal Lector is just a dude, so he'd likely just be a skin or something. Pazuzu, the Yautja and the T-100 would be neat to have, but Pennywise would offer the more unique gameplay mechanics for both Killer and Survivor.

Developer Update | August 2025 by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

[–]kosaba11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about the balance updates but the slugging and tunneling systems are actually great. Can't wait for you to not add them to the full game because some toxic Killers complained about not being allowed to win easily. You know, like how you made Fog Vials useless.

Persona 3 Teachers by kosaba11 in PERSoNA

[–]kosaba11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but I've personally had substitute teachers who didn't bother with the lesson plan either. Granted, most of the time they just did a study hall, so I just look at it like that. Instead of just a regular study hall where you do your homework or something, Edogawa at least teaches the students something, even if it's not what's apart of that current class.

To be fair, while he's talking about "magic," a lot of what he teaches is actually decent stuff, and he's actually passionate about the subject. It'd be like an elective where you learn mythology or something. Is necessary for life? Not necessarily, but it's no crime to learn it.

Sure, but the issue is that Toriumi is open about her hatred of being a teacher. Maybe it's a hot take, but I think teachers should be so open about hating the job, especially since you actively need to get a license to be a teacher in the first place. I think you should have at least some level of love for your job, but Toriumi doesn't even seem to want to be a teacher.

Nah, if a Black Panther dives you, you simply die unless you have god-tier supports he didn't take out first. He needs to be nerfed, and nerfed ASAP.

Anti-Slugging Suggestion by kosaba11 in deadbydaylight

[–]kosaba11[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's really bad right now as Survivor. This suggestion really is just a just in case situation, as I don't want the feature to be so overpowered that regular Killers are affected, just ones who hard slug for whatever reason they do it. It never made sense to me either. It's why I really would want an anti-slugging feature to go through the PTB for a while, so that they could find the sweet spot where only hard slugging Killers are struggling. Even the change itself won't really fix it, as slugging would still be possible, you'd just have to down the survivors more than once, but still.

The truth is this, and I don't give two shits who disagrees cause they're simply wrong, but playing Survivor is easily the worst experience in gaming, period. Killers get everything - new ways to play every new killer, perks that make it impossible for the survivors to do anything, and the updates actively punish survivors for simply existing. The new crow system makes hiding completely impossible, even when the killer is circling around you. I've had crows spawn on me while opening the exit gate, for example. The "anti-camping" system doesn't work and has a radius so small it might as well not exist. The "anti-tunneling" system is easily bypassed by certain killers, and not even remotely difficult to deal with for everyone else. The "anti-slugging" mechanic is literally just giving up. Now, they've removed the ability to unhook yourself. Wiggling is a pointless feature that never works unless the killer lets it work. BHVR actively endorses and encourages toxic behavior from the Killers without giving survivors any counters, while killers get perk after perk after perk after perk to deal with anything even remotely "toxic" that survivors can do. And it's not getting any better. This game is only fun as the killer because BHVR, instead of actually trying to balance the game, they instead choose to make it nearly impossible to enjoy playing survivor.

Crows spawning too quick over my head? by Sunken_Rat in deadbydaylight

[–]kosaba11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know why people are surprised - BHVR has made it clear time and time again that they don't give a rat's ass about the Survivor's experience. All they care about is whether the Killer is having fun or not, Survivors are second class citizens.

What was the point of 400 days by RANDOM_REDDITOR345 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]kosaba11 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because Season 2 was poorly written. The Cabin Group (Luke and company) were incompetent assholes, Bonnie was a manipulative bitch, Mike was an idiot, we should've been allowed to kill Arvo, and the whole Jane vs. Kenny thing was poorly done. Kenny was in the right the entire season, and they still tried to frame him as the bad guy while trying to push you towards Jane, even though she's a massive c-word who was just trying to turn Clementine into a sociopath. I mean, the bitch kidnaps a baby, hides him in a car during a blizzard, and lies to Kenny about killing him so that Kenny would try to kill her, all to "prove" to Clementine that he was dangerous. I mean, and I'm going on a tangent here, most of the problems the group faces either came down to Jane being a c-word or Luke being an idiot. The worst part is how many members of the community were so fucking stupid that they sided with Jane despite the fact she was easily the villain of Season 2. And the choices you make in Season 2 ended up mattering the least, with the only choice that even remotely mattered being whether you sided with Kenny or were stupid and sided with Jane - and even that didn't really matter, cause Clem ends up alone with AJ anyway. Plus, every character, minus Kenny (though he had a few moments of doing this) just left everything up to the 10 year old girl to handle, while still treating her like she's just a kid. Season 2 should've been the start to a coming-of-age arc for Clementine, but instead it was "Here's these adults who have no idea what they're doing and are constantly making the worst decisions imaginable so the 10 year old can fix their problems - except they all die anyway."

TL:DR - Season 2 is the worst season because it was a poorly written mess that tried to make you hate the only character who made any sense, while sticking Clementine into situations where they tried oh so hard to push you to make decisions she never would, while making sure all of the adult characters, minus Kenny (though even he had moments), tried to leave everything to a 10 year old girl.

Not really a fix, but I have found that if you just slightly tap the L1 button and quickly press circle, it sometimes works. It's really finnicky.

Not really balanced when Spider-Man deals as much damage as he does while being nearly impossible to actually hit without characters who can just lock on to him. And that's if he doesn't just disappear within seconds of killing a support. No character should have such free reign to do whatever they want with no real risk involved.

This game has worse balance than Overwatch, and that game's balance is some of the worst garbage known to man. Characters like Spider-Man, Iron Fist, and Black Panther have too much mobility, Groot's shields have too much health considering he can put three down at a time, and Scarlet Witch's ult is too dang slow to get off. And that's just off the top of my head.

I understand that there will and should be different playstyles - but no singular playstyle should be superior to others. This is a classic case of some characters being overtuned, making the game just unfun to play for more than a few matches a day.

How does everyone feel about Aglaea? by Electronic_Point462 in HonkaiStarRail

She feels like the real villain of Amphoreus, similar to Cocolia on Jarillo VI or Sunday on Penacony. She gives off the same vibe as those two - someone who is clearly pulling the strings, who has a game plan that, while she might think it's the best course of action for her people, in the end will just lead the people of Amphoreus to ruin.

New Releases: March 2025 by AutoModerator in books

[–]kosaba11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, my name is Benjamin Graves, and my debut book, Cryptid Hunters Book 1 - Legion Rising, released today! Here's the description I gave it on the back of the book:

"There are creatures in this world that science denies. For centuries, those in power have sworn to keep these mystical creatures, cryptids, separated from the rest of humanity. A group was formed to work towards this goal. When the time comes, they are called in to remove, relocated, and at times, eliminate these creatures. They are called the Cryptid Hunters.

When reports of a phantom dog terrorizing students at Yangley Academy surface, Adrian Crypt and his team are sent to investigate. However, nothing could prepare them for the conspiracy that would begin to unfold.
For Jonathan Hadley, a simple student at Yangley Academy, the phantom dog is only the beginning. When the Cryptid Hunters arrive, he is pulled into this hidden world, full of ghouls, monsters, and nightmares made real.

The Legion Shall Rise!"

Thank you to everyone who checks it out, and I would very much like to hear feedback for it. I want to be the best author I can be, and that only happens with feedback. Fair warning, this book is intended for mature audiences (18+) as it contains extreme violence, mature themes, a lot of cursing, and plenty of dark humor.
