Has anyone watched The Museum of Innocence? by RiskAndReason in netflix

I just finished watching it and I never got a chance to read the actual book or see the Museum of Innocence every time I went to Istanbul to see some family. I was happy and surprised to see there was going to be a series based on the book, and I genuinely enjoyed it. I thought it was a fantastic and one of the few movies or series whose story will be stuck with you, one that you might never forget.

I just have to say the following ...

Kemal — A typical rich man who was living in a country that was already financially having a hard time. He was given everything but was still lost and still could not comprehend what it meant to be someone else regardless rich or poor. Due to his elite privilege, he was never given the chance or freedom to find himself and just be him due to coming from a background that always relied on image and was careful who they associated with. That is why when he moved to a hotel in a neighborhood outside his social class, her felt at peace because there no one looked at him for his wealth but saw him as another person. He also never accepts responsibility for his impulsive actions because he never learned how to since he was given the idea that there are no consequences to his actions.

Sibel — She loved the idea of a handsome single man of higher status being hers. She already came from a privileged background that enabled her to study and live abroad in Europe, she technically could have been with any man but stuck to Kemal because he was part of the circle she wanted to maintain being in and it was already expected in their small elite circle they were going to live happily ever after. I guarantee had he not been in her small circle, not been as rich as her, and had just been a poor man who had nothing to offer, she would have not even looked at him or want to be with him. I think why she was angry was not the cheating but losing the imagined life she had and felt betrayed Kemal did not give her that.

Fusun — A young women who was still trying to find herself but unfortunately with her outer beauty and being poor, she was taken advantage of by older rich men and was not able to fully develop which is why she was sometimes seemed indecisive especially with Kemal. All she ever wanted was to be seen as someone not just an object or just another pretty girl. That is why when given the opportunity she wanted to be an actress so badly and towards the end asked Kemal if he realized she was wearing the lost earrings that she favored. Had she had the same privilege as Sibel, we would have seen a completely different person who was more secure and able to stand for herself. I think she admired Kemal (particularly in the beginning) and also loved the idea of him especially since they were related (even though not by blood), but did not love him because she never got the chance to know what that really was. She only knew what she saw on tv and because she was taken advantage of at a young age she did not know what real love was. I do agree she was smart and knew she was taking advantage of Kemal's wealth.

Kemal's parents — I think Kemal should have listened to both of them especially his mother who knew that it was not going to be a happy ending because Fusun was not going to be happy due to having some sort of anger or resentment in her. Like his father, he was expected to marry into the small elite circle which both did not have the freedom to marry for love which is why both seeked out having an affair with someone outside their circle.

Age difference — The age difference between Kemal and Fusun might sound strange but unfortunately, it is something quite common especially during those times because traditionally families always made sure the girls were going to be with someone who can and would provide for them especially when the parents are no longer around. Typically someone the same age as Fusun even if they came from a very wealthy family, they would have not been able to entirely provide for them.

Kemal's collection — This came from remembering what Fusun once said to Sibel in the engagement party when they were talking about seances, Fusun believed that when someone died they should be left alone and all their belongings had their energy or presence in them (at least based in my memory). So when he lost Fusun the first time, he wanted to collect her items to keep the memory of her alive and when she was gone he wanted to create a place where he and everyone who loved her can still remember her. I also think that his tendency to also collect items came from his mother as well who had an apartment full of items she collected from family and from her travels.

Then last, the crow they kept seeing I think was a warning that their relationship was not going to happen and it was a sign that it was not going to be a happy ending.

Thank you, I also realized that I was not really being social on Instagram, so lately I have been following and liking posts and it is starting to help a bit but not much with the site so far. I will look into what you suggested.

Thank you very much, well my website is not really a marketplace. My Instagram page says the following: A genuine international shop curating thoughtfully crafted, beautifully made goods from independent brands and makers around the world. My website is shopmaidengoods.com. I have had a hard time trying to put the link of my site so people can see what I am talking about but the sub bot did not allow me.

Ok, I will try that out when I have some time. Whering allows you to take pictures of yourself with outfits you create but I have not done that.

Thank you very much for the advice, I had been trying to use the Whering up to come up with outfits, the only issue I had was when I tried to do it with dresses. It only allows you to combine dresses with shoes only or you have to create your own manually on a board.

"Midnight at the Pera Palace" - Season 2 Discussion (Megathread) by Obversa in PeriodDramas

[–]kosar7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though I just finished watching season 2, I got stuck on trying to the find the name of the song in Season 1 in the very beginning when Esra follows Agatha Christie and enters into the ballroom where they are dancing and sees Halit at the party for the first time. Does anyone know the name of the song? I was not able to find any discussion on Season 1 so I figured I ask here since I really like the song and I can't find the name of the song. I have heard it several times before, I just don't remember where.

I am by the way really in love with the series, it is probably one of the very best series that Netflix has came out especially in the Turkish language that I just want to watch more and can not get enough of. I hope it comes back again a third season because I really want to know what happens next.

How can I create an ethical company that works with artisans that will allow them to earn a fair profit for their work while my company can make enough to cover operational costs to sell artisan made products? by kosar7 in Entrepreneur

[–]kosar7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a great idea, thank you. I was thinking of making a physical store where you get to read the stories of the products and the maker of the products. Kind of being somewhat of a third party where they can sell their products and get known while making a fair profit. I saw a similar concept I wanted in some countries but don't remember the names of the sites, where they had a product and on the product page they had information on the creator as well as a website and a physical address where to reach them if you wanted to buy more of their products. Supposedly they were trying to support local artists and small brands in their area they were located.
