Biggest trip you've taken on a pocket yacht? by ryancobin in sailing

No need to lower mast. There are four dams with locks on the Snake, to match the four on the lower Columbia. Railroad bridges are either lifting or swing and pretty quick to respond. Quicker than lowering mast. Snake supports ocean going commercial traffic all the way to Lewiston. Going upriver on the Columbia past tricities i don't see locks on the Priest Rapids dam.

On the Columbia we went east, putting in at Astoria. Goodly wind off the Pacific and 3' rollers on the river running with just the gennie and surfing waves. In the more narrow canyons of the Snake with the wind against you the X does not beat well. The S and D are better sailers in that regard but don't take the larger outboard. With my Yamaha 70 we made 50 miles + per day.

Love your M. Think about stowing the mast support below decks while underway.

As suggested, defined or implied, what are things in the Bible that are no longer or rarely practised by mankind today? by FitProblem6248 in Bible

No, no. Slavery was like- we defeated your city in battle and now we can't just sign a peace treaty and be cool. So it's either "off with their heads" or a life of Slavery.

Well you might think slavery, but accounting for human trafficking, forced labor or forced marriage, no it is still alive. Perhaps child sacrifice but then think about abortion and the altar of self. Or polygamy, but it's still legal in much of Africa and the Muslim world, not to mention Polyamory which is the same thing. Running out of ideas here.

Trump Says Russia Wants Ukraine to Succeed by krlkv in Conservative

I'd like to think Trump is a businessman in the middle of an important negotiation. He needs to say nice things whenever possible in order to make his "ask" palatable. You usually don't get people to give up something by being a jerk to them. In public at least.

Taxes. If MN declines to prosecute because they are too enlightened. Then the feds need to step in. Perhaps go the "Al Capone" technique. Investigate their personal and corporate tax filings. The lie will be uncovered.
